“Robert Conley, who has been urging the fencing since his son, Kevin, jumped off the bridge to his death in 2006.”
Maybe if you reached out to him before, he might still be with you.
I would generally say, at least from my experience that there are several reasons why someone would try to kill themselves. Generally they are depressed and for whatever reason are not getting what it is that they need. It’s not money or whatever, but love, care compassion. Someone who gives a shit whether they live or die.
If you know someone you think might be considering, reach out to them. Make them feel like a special person again. Life is hard on all of us.
I agree completely, those that try but intentionally fail are a good example of this. As far as this netting is concerned though it’s a waste of time for those who have decided to end their life for good though.
Make trains out of rubber to save those who jump in front of them.
Great. So now 25 people a year will die by being sieved through steel mesh nets.
Most people don’t start in that position though. Most try first to try to get a wakeup call.
Don't think of them as suicides. Think of them as free chum.
What possible environmental impact could hanging nets from the bridge have? The greenies have ruined this country with their BS.
20 Feet will pretty much kill you if you jump into steel. Do these people ever think before they act? Maybe they want the suicides to die, they just want to be able to collect the bodies without having to into the water.
environmental impact...
Literally!
Pretty much the only thing that the liberal vermin of San Fransissico care about...the scenery.
They kill thousands of children a day, fill every space of the country with every manner or ugliness and perversion, but they’ll spend millions of dollars to stop us from leaving.
