I believe that ultimately it is economic growth as the founders intended it, unencumbered by government interference.
Conservative Americans sees the future role of government allowing America to compete in the global economy. America’s socialist element sees the future role of government impeding other nations and not encouraging growth in America. The Conservative recognizes that the Constitution does not empower the government to interfere.
Asking all Americans to face the reality of the situation is an awesome task. Facing reality would result in the decision to learn how to compete in the global economy rather than learning how to avoid participating in the global economy.
Competing in the global economy will evidential prevail and America will set about discovering how best to compete...but as Churchill wisely observed, Americans will always do the right thing, but only after they have tried all other possible alternatives.
The alternative for America is what first allowed America to become great, limited government under America’s Constitution. America did not become great because of what government did. America became great because of what the Constitution prohibited government from doing.
Dump all Democrats. Then go to work on the Republicans.
And people need to keep in mind:
Government spending does not create wealth.
Hiring more government workers does not create wealth.
Investing in green technology does not create wealth.
Expanding health care coverage does not create wealth.
During the 2008 campaign (early phase), Obama was asked in a debate where he would CUT the budget. I can closely paraphrase his answer: "We do need to cut the budget. The deficit is too large. Here's where I would cut the budget -- I would invest in schools. I would invest in roads and bridges. And above all, I would invest in green technology and new sources of energy."
This is the sort of answer that should have people throwing their shoes at the speaker.
Wealth creation is the big issue, and wealth creation means dramatically shrinking the role that government plays in our lives. Cut the spending, cut the regulation, free up the marketplace so that people can make decisions that result in economic growth.
This needs to be the big topic: how will YOU make government less important?
Neither can they run from the Taliban or AQ. Eleminate them once and for all. Either do that or get the hell out of the Middle East with a statement that if they ever attack us again, we will totally destroy their country. We have more distructive power in the air than we had during WWI and WWII put together and that’s without nukes. Why do we have it if we aren’t going to use it? I’m tired of hearing about the Taliban and AQ. Get it on or get out and concentrate on the well being of this country.
1: Build a fence around America.
2: Stop writing checks we can’t cash.
3: Fire 0bama and his gang of Marxists.
4: Drill for our own oil/natural gas/coal.
5: No amnesty for illegal “imigrants”.
6: Make every student study the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
7: Build up the military.
8: Round up every Muslim extremist and export them immediately.
9: Ban gay marriage.
10: Allow nationwide concealed carry to those permitted CCW holders.
The list is endless.......
Let’s see. Impeach the prez? Throw the bums out of Congress? Keep our ey on the dadburned ball? Or all three?
We support largely the UNITED NATIONS, the WORLD BANK, various other subsidies, loans and our right gifts of medical treatments, food, supplies to the rest of the world.
IF/WHEN we become one with the World we will be called on to give the same welfare benefits to the world.
God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.
As long as we see our current state in terms of simplistic political cliches and talking points, then there ain’t a whole hell of a lot we can or will do.

Easy. Immediately cut all taxes to a 10% retail sales tax. Gummint needs to be restrained to this. 5% needs to be set aside to “clear our debt” and no additional meny can be spent. Period. I don’t care if an asteroid shows up or aliens get out of a UFO. Gummint cannot displace more than 10% of the economy and everything it does needs to be covered by that. This one thing will cure everything that ails us. The whining will be intense as the libtards have to find ways to pay for the stuff they want out of THEIR OWN pocket but there it is. Stuff has to be PAID FOR. No more smoke and mirrors. THe economy will go into orbit and we will become the most productive group of folks in history and there will be plenty foreveryone.
In the United States, we have virtually regulated the development of natural resources out of business. We rationalized that the “extraction” industries are low pay and there is an environmental impact from extraction, so we can import raw materials from third world countries and leave the damage there. Unfortunately, as we did this, we also lost our manufacturing industries to these countries. Now all we do is add expensive labor in our service oriented/information and technology age economy.
We have placed vast resources off limits and have committed economic suicide in the process. (Look at the Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument, for instance. Why are we putting vast coal resources off limits from development? How is this not economic suicide? Why is Obama about to declare millions of more acres ripe for energy development off limits in National Monuments? Is China demanding this? Is this part of global redistribution of wealth?) We have also lost the skill base, technology and economic infrastructure to develop our resources. (The Northwest Forest Plan has eliminated a whole generation of timber workers. Southern California no longer has timber mills to take care of burned forests. They haul the logs off into the desert and burn them. The average age of a farmer or rancher is in his 60s. How is this not going to affect our food supply in the next 20 years?)
