Florida doctor tells Obama health care supporters to go elsewhere
Orlando Sentinel ^ | 4/02/10 | Steven Hudak

MOUNT DORA — A doctor who considers the national health-care overhaul to be bad medicine for the country posted a sign on his office door telling patients who voted for President Barack Obama to seek care "elsewhere." "I'm not turning anybody away — that would be unethical," Dr. Jack Cassell, 56, a Mount Dora urologist and a registered Republican opposed to the health plan, told the Orlando Sentinel on Thursday. "But if they read the sign and turn the other way, so be it." The sign reads: "If you voted for Obama … seek urologic care elsewhere. Changes to your healthcare begin right now, not in four years."

As for this doctor in FL...he's just begging for a lawsuit or some disciplinary action from the state licensing board.

they'd have to prove he's denying care..he's not. I hope he stands up to whatever criticism he gets...we've layed down too long and voices have to be heard.

What you don’t understand is that literally MILLIONS of
Americans will jump over the cliff for Obama today if needed. These are dedicated socialists, and nothing stops them.

I'm in a bad situation. My husband retired from the Dept of Defense. We have to have Federal Employee Health Insurance. We get to choose who. We had Fed Emp Blue Cross/Blue Shield. We now have Fed Emp Mailhandlers. I don't know what will happen to us. We have a few nurses and a neurologist in the family, so maybe we can go underground.

When they do that, look for lots of doctors to “retire”—or sit it out until we can accomplish a regime change.

You’re right. Physicians in their 50’s will retire. I personally know quite a few who plan to do that. They’re not just talking they are actively taking steps preparing to do just that.

I frequently suggest to those doctors who cannot retire—try to take a long sabbatical, maybe a year off while it all shakes out.

Coming soon from the media...Dr. Jack Cassell is:

1) racist in not accepting black folk
2) Greedy because he seeks profit rather than social responsibility in uplifting all of society
3) hypocritical for not upholding his oath
4) an unenlightened republican
5) uncaring in not spreading his talents evenly for the good of society

Given the thuggery of Hussein and the rest of the radical left, this guy is really showing some guts. Now if only we had some republican politicians who would do the SAME!!!

“As for this doctor in FL...he’s just begging for a lawsuit or some disciplinary action from the state licensing board.”

I agree with you that all types of retaliations will be attempted, but do you feel that they are justified? Do you believe that our forefathers intended for the law to limit free speech in this manner?
I, personally, have had it up to here with these whiners who want to jail or muzzle anyone that uses offensive language. But, the real kicker is the unelected, liberal judges that get to selectively decide just which speech is offensive. Their goal is nothing less than mind control and suppression of dissenting speech!

Speaking of Grayson, I bet he’s already considering a law requiring doctors to accept Medicare patients.

Very similar to what fascists do whenever they take over.

They dictate prices for goods and services,
then dictate that providers MUST provide at that price or face penalties.

Slavery.

I believe they’d actually have to find someone that was refused care based on their vote for 0bama.

I think it would have been far more effective to do what another doctor did, and announce that as of April 1, 2010, insurance will no longer be accepted: services will be paid for at the time of service, if a patient wants insurance reimbursement, it’s the patient’s responsibility to seek it (if you need help from our staff for codes, etc., that’s a separate charge of $50/hr, 1/2 hour minimum), and, overdue accounts will be referred to another provider, but will not longer be treated.

“I believe they’d actually have to find someone that was refused care based on their vote for 0bama.”

###

When we dismiss a patient, we tell them we will be available for emergency care for a period of 30 days, but that they should seek ongoing care elsewhere.

We also point out that in our area (as in most of the country) that there is a plethora of healthcare options and that if they are stupid to find an alternative doctor, we will provide them with a list.

There is some misinterpretation on this thread of what a private-practing doctor “must” do. We are not a public utility. This doctor is perfectly within his rights to refuse his services to anyone he chooses. The gray area comes in emergency care only, in which there is at least a moral obligation to provide initial rudimentary services.

My Internist in Asheville, NC. who see lots of medicare/medicade patients and is in an office alone, says last year he saw a total of 120 more patients and earned $8,000. less than the year before. Something’s got to give. He says he’s looking into going private.

My neighbor’s internist has a sign posted in his office: “We are no longer accepting any medicare or medicade patients.”

Sign posted in my gunshop reads: “Due to recent legislation out of Washington, D.C., anyone who voted for the current president will be charged a 10% fee to defray increased business costs.”

I had one customer get ugly when he read it, and he told me that it was not funny. I replied that it’s not supposed to be funny, since it’s not a joke.
