You are mistaken by including me in your missive.

Big Palin fan here.
BIG.

However, she has made a gross mis-step in aligning herself with the race-card playing Steele.

Fomenting racial strife via the reflexive and intimidating “racism” accusation, is a fundamental building block of the Communist (Democrat) Party power base.

This is not a small matter.

"She’s doing what she does best, articulating the conservative message, and the numbers of folks who come out to see her speak to the power she has to transform the GOP."

I'm a Palin fan & agree that she articulates the conservative message.

She does have the power to transform the GOP - but it's puzzling to me how to do that by standing behind the very people that are ruining the GOP.

I hope she rethinks how you can't say one thing & do another. That's what the problem with the GOP is at the present time. Their words need to match their actions.

um he did go after Ford vigorously in the 76 primary which got pretty heated. he was EXTREMELY critical of Ford.

Ford was further left than McCain, probably close to Snowe. As much as Steele is a wuss, he is much better than Ford.

Yes , I agree...these FR trolls are fools, you are not going to trash Michael Steele right there, you say like she said “ in about a month people will be able to vote for someone else if they are unhappy with M. Steele” It’s up to the people!

It would be stupid for conservatives to make Steele a focal point for criticism.

Very stupid.

you are correct that there are no perfect candidates however the blind zeal that many of her supporters have regarding Palin is reminiscent of Obamabots who cannot be critical her even if she does things that call her judgement into question.
i can understand her campaigning for McCain out of personal loyalty. but defending Steele’s buffoonary should be criticized by everyone

I read that many years ago. I have no source, but will check it out AND POST IT HERE.

Bush I torpedoed or tried to torpedo nearly every foreign policy achievement of Reagan’s.

But then most thinking people know where the Bush Klan stands on globalism and foreign policy.

By the way, its interesting that someone who is ostensibly a conservative and supporting Palin, being so critical of conservative icons like Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater.

This will be the pattern till the Big election. I don’t care I am voting for her and I will have to be shot not to!!!!!!!!”

Sounds like a serious case of Palinitis. You are going to be in a world of hurt if she decides not to run.

Reagan told the liberal Republicans to get out - that we didn’t need a big tent if it diluted our message:

“A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

I do not believe I have proposed anything that is contrary to what has been considered Republican principle. It is at the same time the very basis of conservatism. It is time to reassert that principle and raise it to full view. And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way.”

I remember Reagan. He was the President who did absolutely NOTHING when 299 American Marines and other American and French service personnel were killed in the Beirut barraks bombing. He was President when the War On Terror should have begun.

Not my point
Ford was a Republican even if he was a liberal one
Reagan was critical of him (rightly so) and it got heated.
So those who say he was never critical of fellow Republicans obviously are using selective memory here in a lame effort to excuse Palin.

I do not think Steele is a buffoon. I think he is a sabateur.

You read it somewhere, so it must be true.

Perhaps you might want to actually think about the statement in light of Reagan's choice in 76.

Might save you some wasted time........

Reagan had an 80% rule. Ford fails that criteria, Steele doesn't.

careful the “Palin can do no wrong crowd” will crucify you for daring to post something that may put Palin in a poor light.

I was once solidly part of the crowd. This has cured me of that particular illusion. Backing McCain, as painful as that was, could be written off to loyalty. But she had no obligation of loyalty to Steele. So her backing him after he paid for lesbo bondage parties, and then played the race cared when challenged about it, is simply inexcusable. I will still applaud at her speeches, but she doesn't appear the be the leader we need now.

Ken Blackwell should have been the choice for RNC chair. He is a Black Conservative! Nuff said.
