Today it is salt and tomorrow it will be fat and the day after that it will be dairy and red meat. All will be taxed and regulated and overseen, and like the great collectives of the other socialist paradises China and Russia we will first be impoverished and then we will be starved.

Must the Obama Administration force upon us food that is drab and joyless, to match the socially engineered life, society and economy it is even now forging? ... Can the commissars of the new Reich truly dictate our recipes and tastes?

What kind of worldview would you have to have
to try to coherently justify the assertion
that we, as individuals, have the “choice” of
killing an innocent baby growing in the womb,
but we don’t have the right to eat what we want to eat?

Iodine regulates the human immune system. In America, very little of our food contains iodine. We get it through salt.
If you look into what the politically correct diet dictators are telling you (seriously investigate what they're trying to take away from you), you'll see it's not being done for YOUR own good. It's being done for theirs. The population has to be reduced. There are too many grasshoppers and not enough ants. War is out of the question. So is a mass slaughter by the government. By "teaching" people what not to eat - the people eliminate themselves voluntarily.
Since natural animal fats have been taken out of Americas diet, the boys are becoming more feminine, and the girls are becoming more masculine. Animal fats are necessary for the sex glands to develop successfully. Eventually, if everyone were forced into a vegetarian diet for a few generations, reproduction of the human race would be impossible.

We need salt to live and we need healthy animal fats (dairy and red meat) to thrive. For several decades we have been told that what natural, wholesome and good for us is dangerous. So now they are ready to limit what keeps people healthy, strong and of sound mind by force.

Can only wonder how it is that Obama has
not yet been
turned to salt.
Where would totalitarians be, if they did not have a 'good intention' to get us, where they want us to be? Of course, this Evil always needs a good horse - to herd the sheep.
Am so sick of even the better minds; allowng that 'well, ok. . .maybe this (every next) control/'idea'/effort might not be such a bad idea. . .our judment rendered null/void thanks to ciggarettes and death of the Marlborough Man!
Would we rather die 'FREE' and happy - or must we made so miserable so as to wish we dead.
God, whatever happened to America and 'My Way'. . .(we know of course, what happened and is still. . .)

Indeed there may be a well documented history of harmful levels of salt in processed foods.
And so the intention to reduce salt levels in processed foods may be well-intentioned.
But ... this is an issue of health awareness and promotion versus regulation. It may be a role of government to promote the general welfare through education but to force compliance is a different matter.
I have nothing against the government mandating packaging requirements to call out the amount of salt versus what is recommended. I would also support a public awareness campaign to reveal the documented harmful effects of too much salt or effects of different types of salts.

It’s not about salt, sugar, fat, carbon dioxide, gasoline, health care, savings, debt, or any other issue. It’s about a socialist lust for power in which Obama and Pelosi want to control every aspect of our lives for the sake of raw power. I hope all the tyrant-wannabe socialists in Congress and in our White House join the ranks of the unemployed . . . soon.
