President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law will increase the nation's health care tab instead of bringing costs down, government economic forecasters concluded Thursday in a sobering assessment of the sweeping legislation.
A report by economic experts at the Health and Human Services Department said the health care remake will achieve Obama's aim of expanding health insurance adding 34 million Americans to the coverage rolls.
But the analysis also found that the law falls short of the president's twin goal of controlling runaway costs. It also warned that Medicare cuts may be unrealistic and unsustainable, driving about 15 percent of hospitals into the red and "possibly jeopardizing access" to care for seniors.

This sets the whole weekend political chat topic...and it’s not what the President would like to see on TV. We all understand the purpose of the VAT now...and it’s not pretty.
Shocking, unexpected, and unprecedented!!!;-)
Friends in NY told me that Blue cross and Blue shield layed off 1500 workers this week. It’s starting!
My only other question is where were these stories in the MSM when this health care debate was going on? Now that the horse has left the barn they're chirping like jail birds! MSLSD is nothing more than an extension of Baghdad Bobby Gibbs and the Owebama propaganda machine.
They consider themselves activists, not reporters, and they envision themselves and the leftist politicians they support as the intellectual voices of reason. They are somewhat like lemmings.. There are few independent thinkers it seems, and finding the truth is less important than parroting the things that get you invited to the right cocktail parties and prevents derision from your in-step peers. Mike Royko, where are you?
"... I'm shocked, - shocked to learn that the health care cost projections will increase..."
"-The initial CBO Obamacare estimates that you wanted destroyed, sir...".
and yet the idiots will NOT vote them out. They will go into the next election hoping that dearest leader will soon “give them [their] money’s worth” in their next terms.
Obama’s own administration call hims out on the lying and deception.
The options for take-home message are rather simple. Either the RATS are incompentent or completely deceitful. Either way, I don’t think the voters will be impressed.
Only a complete idiot or a journalist is surprisd by this.
But Nan Pelosi said obamacare was a jobs bill, and would produce 400,000 jobs “almost immediately” and 4 million jobs in the decade ahead
Honest, she did. Tell your friends its coming, just trust Nancy.
Who is now calling the “Strangle the Small Banks democrat financial reform bill” - a job creator
30 million more people mandated to be insured
paid for (on paper) by cuts to MEDICARE
and AARP was all onboard with it
How unexpectedly unexpected, not to mention unprecedented.

President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul law is getting a mixed verdict in the first comprehensive look by neutral experts: More Americans will be covered, but costs are also going up.
“Only a complete idiot or a journalist is surprised by this.”
I have called them mediots for over a decade. It describes them and doesn’t insult the few real journalists in America.
AARP has been on board with this from the very beginning because of the fact that they are one of the biggest providers of supplemental health insurance for Medicare recipients. It’s no surprise to me considering the proposed cut of half a billion in Medicare over the next ten years that supplemental insurance will go through the roof making some people over at AARP very very rich.
