Why Reporters Are Down On President Obama
Politico ^ | 4/28/2010 | JOSH GERSTEIN & PATRICK GAVIN

One of the enduring story lines of Barack Obama’s presidency, dating back to the earliest days of his candidacy, is that the press loves him.

“Most of you covered me. All of you voted for me,” Obama joked last year at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.

But even then, only four months into his presidency, the joke fell flat. Now, a year later, with another correspondents’ dinner Saturday night likely to generate the familiar criticism of the press’s cozy relationship with power, the reality is even more at odds with the public perception.

Obama and the media actually have a surprisingly hostile relationship — as contentious on a day-to-day basis as any between press and president in the past decade, reporters who cover the White House say.

A few days later, Gibbs said at one of his briefings, “This is the most transparent administration in the history of our country.” Peals of laughter broke out in the briefing room. Reporters say the White House is thin-skinned, controlling, eager to go over their heads and stingy with even basic information. Except toward a few reporters, press secretary Robert Gibbs can be distant and difficult to reach — even though his job is to be one of the main conduits from president to press. “It’s an odd White House where it’s easier to get the White House chief of staff on the phone than the White House press secretary,” one top reporter said.

Is “down” really “up”? Ghetto speak? Like something really good is “sick”?

How many "journalists" or reporters are investigating potential wrong doing of the Zero administration?

Zero - like the President they helped elect

Give me a BREAK!

All Obama gets is glowing praise from the media. They cover and spin everything he does.

That said - the administration HAS treated them like garbage.

But that hasn’t turned the media against him at all. In fact, it seems to make them like him more.

What a bunch of BS this article is. If Obama asks the press corps to jump they will ask how high.

When the press decides to ferret out and interview Obama’s college drug dealer, THEN I’ll believe that they’ve turned on him.

The word ‘sick’ being used to describe something incredible isn’t along the lines of opposite meanings like in 1984. It’s in use by my generation, and just something simple like “sick car” would be “awesome car.” We don’t say “whip.”

This column is complete horse manure.
In early 2012 the nation’s “mainstream” Democrat newsrooms will begin their reelection campaign in earnest. They will once again lie, spin, and do everything possible (and impossible) to get their man reelected. Count on it like the sun coming up in the east.

A new restaurant opened by me a few years back and the girl at the convenient store nearby told me: “I hear they got some pretty slimy food over there!!” which I guess is a good thing.
