An Open Letter To Patriots
I am writing this as an open letter to all that consider themselves a voice for the Conservative / Tea Party Movement or any other political voice in opposition to the current administration in D.C.
More and more average citizens are becoming active in the political process every day. Many, like myself, have never been involved but are very concerned about the direction of our great nation. They turn to many media sources for information and insight on the seemingly endless series of debates over everything from healthcare and immigration reform to jobs and the future of our economy.
These Americans sift through countless hours of commentary from politicians, columnists, talk show hosts and radio personalities in search of one thing... The truth.
This is why I implore those Conservative leaders to listen to these points and take them to heart.
To: Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levine, Neal Boortz, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Herman Cain, Michael Gallagher, Laura Ingraham, Dennis Prager, Fred Thompson, Mike Rosen, Jay Sekulow, G. Gordon Liddy, Janet Parshall, Darrell Ankarlo, Lars Larson, Other Conserative voices -
I understand the passion and emotion, and sometimes frustration, which leads you to do what you do. That passion that leads you to write books and articles and speak to Americans day in and day out trying to expose the atrocities going on in our nations capital. But this passion that drives and motivates can also blur the message and hinder the progress that is being made, driving away those that you are trying so hard to reach.
Every day the left is telling the American public that Conservatives are crazy, racists that use fear to convince the people that Liberals are evil. Then the next time they hear a Conservative talk about how "Obama's goal is to ruin this economy" or "Liberals want to control every aspect of American life" the only thing they can think is that they were right.
No matter how much we believe that these are the goals of the administration, unless we can prove it beyond any doubt, it will only serve to drive away those that have the belief that all humans are inherently good. I have personally had conversations with many good, hard working Americans that share my conservative values but are becoming more and more open to the idea that Liberals might be right. Conservatives are just trying to use fear to gain control.
We need to open the American publics eyes to what is going on in Washington and the way to accomplish this is by educating people to the facts. I am not suggesting we do not voice our opinions. However, we must recognize the line between opinion and fact and always be clear on which side of that line we are speaking from.
The other common occurrence has to do with people that disagree. The most popular method of dealing with people that disagree with Conservative values seems to be to tell them how stupid they are and not let them speak. I believe this too is a product of allowing our passion to get in the way of our sense decency. Instead of treating those that disagree with ridicule and contempt we have got to embrace them. Show them compassion and a genuine concern for the fact that they have strayed so far from the founding principles that have made this nation great.
Obviously time is a concern in most of these instances but the message that is sent to many people that may be "on the fence" is a very important one. The message is that we believe that we're right and you're wrong at that's all there is to it. Let's think for a moment about what would motivate someone that disagrees to call into one of these shows. Do we really think they are calling because they think they can change the hosts beliefs? Not likely. I believe more often the opposite is the truth and deep down the caller may have some doubt about their own beliefs. Why not do everything possible to show that caller that they are wrong about us?
It is my contention that a majority of the Americans that consider themselves "Democrats" are beginning to question the direction that this administration has our nation headed. However, it will take a concerted effort on the part of everyone that considers themselves "Conservative" to bring all Americans together. To show them that this adminstration and their plans will change this nation forever. Help them to understand that once the government grows and takes over the private sector, there is no going back. We will never live like we once did in the USA.
We must show them through compassion that the American dream is still alive, educate them through facts that it is fading fast and appeal to their sense of patriotism that we still have the power to do something about it.

Well..another hit and run...boy do they slither in and out of here.
Sorry, dude(tte). No matter how much you’d like it to be otherwise, we’re awake now, and we woke up grumpy. No amount of your pseudo-soothing “compassionate conservative” cr@p is going to make us go back to napping while our country is being stolen out from under us. Sometimes the people who are wrong just need to hear the truth in plain, unvarnished tones. We tried it your way. All we got were RINOs and their “reach across the aisle” drivel. We’ve allowed them to sell our country for their own political and/or financial gain. No more. You don’t like it-tough.
