It's a good one. Carry on.

Thanks LLS.
“Anyone with Merchant Marine experience knows that the supply boats sank the rig with their water cannons. Water can not put out that type fire. They filled it up and sank it. It would of sat there and burned until they could control it. In an enclosed space the steam from water could put out an oil fire. The key is not to put too much water just enough to create steam and not sin the ship. Dump ass paniced supply boat Captains blew it.”

That is somewhat of a relief. This disaster is still very strange. Thanks for the info.

It did!.....
.....Didn't you hear he knows how to design cars, and he told GM they WILL make electric cars? (even if they don't sell)
Gasp! Really?!?
Yeah, I don’t trust Obama with this or anything else. EVERYTHING is political with this guy. It is extrememly harmful to the nation. There was ONE instance I remember of a non-politcal event (the VERY early treatment of Swine Flu- the first days or so, then it changed and was used to push for govt healthcare), which shortly after chaned and was used for his own agenda.
Globalism, my friend, has no nationality boundries!!!

Sure it's possible, but unlikely as human errors are more likely and the most likely is that the "BOP" failed to operate properly.
This is a rare thing these days, but a blow out is a catastrophic event on a rig. The preventer is supposed to make a blowout unlikely, but it is now obvious that the BOP failed because oil is flowing past it after the rig detached and sunk.
I am thinking that it was somehow fouled by the concrete slurry activity that occurred about 20 hours before the event. I don't know of this ever happening before. It is a bit strange.
Crude is as natural a substance on this planet as anything else. The environment is not hurt by it, and in fact it often creates a natural environment of it's own where bacteria feed on the oil and little fish eat the bacteria and bigger fish eat..............and so on.
IMO, there will be no long term damages to the environment in the gulf, and short term damages will be to birds and some gulf shrimpers who will have to go somewhere else until the slick dissipates because it will foul their catch if they pull up their nets with oil on the surface.
The crude will be absorbed by the environment and within months, not years.
It was going to sink in any case. These things can stay afloat unmanned because it's all automatic, but the blowout and fire likely took out the controllers and the generators and without them, it will capsize and sink within days on the rigs I am familiar with. I understand this one was state of the art.
Yup.....I can’t imagine how much crude leaks into the oceans daily from seeps on the floor. The number of barrels would be friggin amazing.
Boy, the enviros have really put one over on people - again. Thanks for the info.
Thanks.
They refuse to see crude oil as a natural substance. There are many derivatives of crude that are indeed harmful to the environment, but the composition of raw crude is not and once the lighter elements escape into the atmosphere, the residue left will begin to sink and it will become part of the food chain. What little is left will end up as part of the sea floor and perhaps part of the oil supply in the distant future.
In reality they are all interchangeable and want simply to cause chaos and the demise of the West just as any Communist does.
