Texas GOP platform: criminalize gay marriage and ban sodomy, outlaw strip clubs and pornography
New York Daily News ^ | June 23, 2010 | Aliyah Shahid

The Texas Republican Party gives a whole new meaning to the word conservative.

The GOP there has voted on a platform that would ban oral and anal sex. It also would give jail sentences to anyone who issues a marriage license to a same-sex couple (even though such licenses are already invalid in the state).

“We oppose the legalization of sodomy,” the platform says. “We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.”

In addition, the platform says that homosexuality “tears at the fabric of society, contributes to the breakdown of the family unit and leads to the spread of dangerous communicable diseases.”

It also states that homosexuality must not be presented as an acceptable “alternative” lifestyle in public schools and “family” should not be redefined to include homosexual couples.

Why doesn’t FR pull this article? Complete and utter lies.

If it is a lie it shouldn't be. When are people going to get backbones and stand up against perversion and it's path of destruction. We should not be ashamed one bit that we believe in morality and it's perfect fruit for society at large.

This doesn't mean that we hate homosexuals and the sexually perverse. It means that we love them enough to give them a compass to go by to help them back from the brink of utter depravity, destruction and ultimate damnation. To hold people's hand as they slide into eternal damnation is not tolerance but rather selfish hatred.

This article may not be legit.

Why? It may have some insinuation in it by the author but did you go look at the TRP platform. The quotes come directly from it albeit they are excerpts.

You did not address the points I made about Constiutional protection.

Men and women who value morality - the very foundation of human civilization - know that sexuality should be expressed in marriage and not with illicit relationships.

If you don’t trust any man who does not frequent strip clubs or use pornography, then you are a two legged animal.

Human civilization is founded upon the natural family which means husband and wife faithful to one another. The sexual drive is meant to be channeled in marriage. The social breakdown and chaos we see is only the beginning of the anarchy that will ensue if the off-the-cliff-into-the-abyss is not turned around. To the sexual libertine, there are no limits. The line between what is acceptable and what is not moves further and further into the insane, as the fire of lust rages more and more. When not tempered by monogamous matrimony and fideltiy, the fire will consume any fuel put into it, and wants more fuel to burn.

Thus, rampant promotion of homosexuality, “hooking up”, scorn on those who want to remain virgins until marriage, huge percentages of children born to single mothers which is a whole problem of its own, sexualization of younger and younger children, cries to lower the age of consent, bestiality de-listed as illegal in some places, more and more extreme porn, and on and on. Oh yes, the call to legalize incest, that’s on the list as well.

Sex is like fire. Fire can heat the house, forge metal, and cook food. It can also burn forests, blow up cities and kill. It has to be used wisely and the same goes for sex. Libertines want to play with fire, and what happens when immature people play with fire? Stuff burns down.

Yes we cannot trust individuals to decide for themselves about sex! We need mother government, who we must depend on for all guidance, sustenance, protection, to tell us what is right and what is wrong, what color the sky is, etc. Only under government's watchful eye can we truly live! Thanks for setting me straight.

Which GOP site?

Did you got to the Texas Republican Party site and look at their Platform?

https://www.1888932-2946.ws/TexasGOP/E-ContentStrategy/userfiles/2010_RPT_PLATFORM.pdf

This article has a lot of hype/spin by the author so take it with a few grains of salt. But the platform is there for all to read, all 25 pages of it.

Neither my post nor the article you linked was about “public lewdness”, but about the reintroduction of sodomy laws, which criminalise certain sex acts between consenting adults IN PRIVATE. It goes without saying that sex acts in public places should continue to be prohibited by law.

LOL..I didn’t say anything about “doing it in the streets”!

For the umpteenth time, the linked article is about the reintroduction of sodomy laws, which criminalise certain sex acts between adults acting IN PRIVATE.

“The term has historical origin in the biblical story of Sodom and Gomorrah.”

Yes, Harry. But the article we are discussing is about sodomy laws which, in the American legal tradition, were not specifically about male homosexuality, but about non-reproductive sex acts generally. What is American isn’t necessarily Christian, and what is Christian isn’t necessarily American.

“Are you from Texas?”

No! Never even been to Texas.

I did my medical training in America in the 90s and then moved to South East England. My wife is half-British half-American. We are moving back to the States, probably permanently, later in the year.

What does #6 have to do with the Republican Party Texas Platform? That’s a link to a blog that hasn’t been updated since Sept. 09.

The problem is adolescent minded liberaltarians want their fantasies made mandatory for everyone.

Keep your porn and your naked dances but out of the way, in the dark alleys, private clubs with no addresses on the door, and so on. Mainstreaming sexual perversion - and yes, porn and strip clubs are perversion, it’s not just homosexuality or bestiality which perverts the natural use of sex - pollutes the entire culture, as we see now, with younger and younger kids trying sex, so many have been ruined by being molested - often by older kids, and porn is very often involved.

Your sick appetite can attempt to satisfy itself in the dark corners where it belongs, not in schools, on TV, or on Main Street.

You like Tolkien? I do too. Gandalf told the fire demon, the Balrog - “Go back to the shadow from whence you came”.

PS - Tolkien was a Catholic and definitely was on the side of moral absolutes.

The Texas Republican Party gives a whole new meaning to the word conservative.

Uh huh....What about illegal aliens?

Here is Dallas Texas in 2006 under a REPUBLICAN president....

Dallas Texas 2006----500,000 illegal aliens were so emboldened by Republican President Bush, they march on Dallas making demands and threats while pushing foreign flags in the Texans faces.

Well put. It’s *almost* as if there’s an enemy within, trying to destroy the Republican Party and conservatism in the U.S.
