Rick Lazio calls out Andrew Cuomo on Ground Zero mosque
NY Daily News ^ | July 7, 2010 | Celeste Katz

GOP gubernatorial hopeful Rick Lazio is calling out his Dem opponent Andrew Cuomo about the Ground Zero mosque proposal … Lazio demanded that state Attorney General Cuomo check the legality of the funding sources for the $100 million Cordoba House Islamic center planned near the site of the 9/11 terror attacks. “New Yorkers have a right to feel safe and be safe,” Lazio told reporters in Lower Manhattan. “There are serious security questions about the appropriateness of this mosque.” In a letter he sent to Cuomo, Lazio cited press accounts that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, who’s spearheading the mosque’s construction, is a “key figure” in an organization that funded the flotilla that sought to break Israel’s Gaza blockade. … Cuomo, who has come out in favor of letting the project proceed, as have numerous city officials although the public is split on the issue, put out this statement via AG’s office spokesman Richard Bamberger: “Anyone who has evidence of wrongdoing should send it to us and we will review it.”

Okay; we will send his office a link to this post. After reading it, it should be obvious to New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo that Imam Rauf’s Cordoba House mosque is being funded by a conglomerate of Islamists, anti-Semites, and terrorism supporting organizations and nations.

“......put out this statement via AG’s office spokesman Richard Bamberger: “Anyone who has evidence of wrongdoing should send it to us and we will review it.”

In essence he’s sayin’ “we aren’t getting off our asses and looking into this arrogant slap in the face to all American’s, so somebody else will have to do it.”

These guys MUST be getting one “H” of a payoff to take such an anti-American attitude as to approve a mosque at ground zero.

There’s no controversy about the mosque. It doesn’t belong there, period. It symbolizes a muslim victory over the people of the West, and anyone with half a brain can figure that out. These arrogant people who are building this mosque there don’t care about America or Americans.

Rick Lazio needs to pull his head out of his ass and hammer Cuomo on his history with HUD. Cuomo the liberal politician was a major player in the financial meltdown in the US.

Cuomo is as responsible as anyone in the US for the financial and real estate meltdown. Cuomo can’t answer these questions. Lazio, don’t fall for the bait.

HOW CAN THE GOP PARTY IN NEW YORK BE SO STUPID AS TO PICK THE LOSER RICK LAZIO

I am involved with all the candidates over here in NY seeking the job of NY Gov. Lazio is petitioning Cuomo as if Cuomo has already won/ Tone-deaf politico Lazio may as well be working for Cuomo, who WILL win. Ask yourself WHY Lazio is asking Cuomo to look into anything which would only serve to buff up AC’s AG credentials, and hence his Gubernatorial credibility. He shoulda already gone on the attack and make a case that AC doesn’t DESERVE to be Gov
because he’s already gone this far in letting the Mosque plan get such widespread approval.

Why wouldn’t Lazio ask the state’s AG to investigate? That’s the AG’s job, not the governor’s. And this gubernatorial candidate has come out in favor of the mosque near G-Zero.

That’s hardly acting as if Cuomo already won the governorship.

I hope New Yorkers won’t get fooled again.

The right ones won't. The problem is the left ones outnumber the right ones 4 to 1.

Let them build it. I will enjoy seeing it blown up, every time the build it, and rebuild it.

Kaboom!Hell the New York fire department might even use it as a target burn.

Lazio has a very legitimate point, especially in light of the recent Supreme Court decision that found that monies in a charitable portion of a non-profit are to be deemed as if they were going to the terrorist portion of the charity.

Thus, in light of so many Islamic organizations having a ‘good’ and ‘bad’ side, it is not unreasonable to question an Islamic Cultural Center’s funding sources.

I hear you. I lived in MA long enough to know true frustration with my fellow voters. Every time they voted Dem taxes went up. So next election they voted Dem again. I am SO glad to be out of there. I hope Lazio campaigns well, and that New Yorkers are finally fed up enough with Dems and taxes to do the right thing.
