PHOENIX – A judge has blocked the most controversial sections of Arizona's new immigration law from taking effect Thursday, handing a major legal victory to opponents of the crackdown.

The law will still take effect Thursday, but without many of the provisions that angered opponents — including sections that required officers to check a person's immigration status while enforcing other laws.

I do wonder if that’s not really their goal. Tie it up for years while the injunction stands even though eventually they know they’ll lose...the hope being that AZ would give up and repeal the law before the court would render a final decision.

"The whole frigging government is in the toilet. you cannot trust any of the three branches of government."

It's been this way for DECADES. The government learned to tell huge lies in the biggest American "mystery" of all time. Never a mystery, it's always been a lie and they know that you aren't going to do a thing about it.

The press keep the government in check? That's funny, they think the presstitues are even dumber than the public and funny thing, they are right.

Common sense deserted this nation sometime in the last 30-40 years.

McCain voted for her by unanimous consent. John Kyl endorsed her nomination. AZ can thank their feckless Republican Senators for this judge.

We are a nation of mostly illiterates. The law didn’t REQUIRE any such thing!

Effing pathetic.

The one job the Fed govt is assigned with it doesn’t do, and so the state steps in to do it, only to be told they cannot.

Let the slaughter of innocent citizens continue. Absolutely pathetic.....no other words.

No soy americano. Soy mexicano. Usted no puede hacer cualquier cosa a mí. Gringo estúpido de HAAHHAHAHA

Hey guys. I Hate to say this. But from this day on I am a Mexican.

That just seems to be the way to go. Even if I have to go to Mexico, declare citizenship, and then cross the boarder illegally. It is worth it. These guy get everything for free? WTF?

No driver's license. no insurance, in state tuition, free health care, welfare if I need it. Being illegal in America is like winning the lottery.

If police can't ask for evidence of legal status, how can an employer, a private citizen require it?

Exactly. Obama has opened a whole can of worms here.

It is WAY past the time when the states should start to form regiments. Let AZ be our Ft. Sumter.

Arizona police should stop enforcement of ANY Federal Law. It’s not their jurisdiction according to the Feds and this Judge. Remove from their books any duplicates on State Code that is already covered by US Code

You make a good point and it should be held out that this should apply to State and city gun restriction vs the Second Amendment.
