National Journal's Victor will have the scoop in tomorrow's edition of the National Journal magazine that Obama economic adviser Christina Romer is quitting the post. It all stems from her feeling -- despite her title as chairwoman of the President's Council of Economic Advisers -- that Larry Summers has more influence with the president.

Didn’t Christina Romer do research that showed that FDR’s policies prolonged the depression? She’s having to support the Keyensian line when she knows it isn’t right. She should’ve resigned long ago.

I am disturbed by the nature of these posts. Very disappointed in fellow freepers.
She and her husband (also an economist) published a paper
that said tax cuts provide more growth than other government spending.
Larry Kudlow quoted this on his show last week.
She was for tax cuts in a Dem Administration. Tax cuts work according
to her analysis.
I was wondering why Tim Geithner Treasury is suddenly so out publicly
at the Medicare report, writing newspaper columns, etc.
It’s that Romer was AGAINST not extending all the Bush tax cuts.
She’s resigning. And now Timmy has to do the dirty work.

The guy with folded arms is Peter Ortzag, Obama’s former budget director, who quit his post a few weeks ago. I guess he got tired explaining why a 14 trillion dollar debt and 1.4 trillion dollar annual deficit is good for the country.
