A group of high school students attending a conservative leadership conference in Washington, D.C. said they were ordered by a security guard to stop singing the national anthem during a June 25 visit to the Lincoln Memorial.
“They told them to stop singing,” said Evan Gassman, a spokesman for the Young America’s Foundation. “I was taken aback. You wouldn’t expect a display of national patriotism to be censored."

“If their idea of civil disobedience is singing the national anthem, then so be it,” Gassman said. “Let them disobey.”
The crime was "singing it loudly".

Big friggin deal. The way in which individuals choose to conduct themselves at memorial sites are their business, provided they are not desecrating or vandalizing property,and/or threatening/harming individuals.
I guess behavioral modification, if you will, is acceptable in this instance. Arbitrary censoring is fine in this case? I don’t need some Park Police telling me how to behave in public if I’m not braking any laws. If you find public displays of patriotism in such places annoying, or disturbing to your peace, I suggest you visit memorials late at night. No one is denying you of that, but don’t deny us the right to live freely, even at memorial sites.

I guarantee you this, a CONSERVATIVE group, which this group was, was NOT singing it disrespectfully.
A CONSERVATIVE group that goes to the trouble of going there is not going to be singing it, spontaneously no less, obnoxiously or off key on purpose. These is NO REASON for them to be SILENCED and told it must be “CONTENT NEUTRAL”. Geesh! It's our NATONAL ANTHEM!

It is interesting that THIS federal “law” is upheld but the one about securing our borders is not

Spare me the sanctimony. We conservatives do the right thing whether there is a law against it or not. Disturbing others at a place of reflection or study is boorish, it’s bad manners. We don’t sing at libraries, we don’t sing at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, we don’t sing inside the Lincoln or any other memorial. That is, we don’t if our parents taught us to be respectful of others in solemn places.
Actually, it was pretty open ended.
I just want God to make it vividly clear to them in an extremely memorable way what stupidly suicidal traitors they are.
I hope it’s still okay to sing “Barack Hussein Obama/ Mhmm/mhmm/mhmm.”. (/s)
