'Birther Queen' Taitz Vows to Keep Fighting After Supreme Court Denies Appeal
Talking Points Memo ^ | 8/16/10 | Ryan J. Reilly

Posted on 08/16/2010 2:46:09 PM PDT by detritus

So-called "Birther Queen" Orly Taitz hadn't yet heard about the Supreme Court's decision to uphold a $20,000 fine against her when TPMMuckraker reached her on Monday.

But Taitz told TPMMuckraker she is convinced that none of the members of the court read her request, and that clerks made the decision for the justices...

A federal judge's October 2009 ruling required Taitz, a lawyer and dentist who has filed several suits claiming President Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen, to pay the fine for filing "frivolous" litigation. Taitz was attempting to misuse the federal court system to push her political agenda, the judge said...

Taitz said reports that there was a lien on her house were untrue, and that she would be able to cover the $20,000 fine with donations from her supporters. "I have means to pay, the public is collecting funds," Taitz said. She said she received $3,500 in four or five days. "Within a month, I will have the $20,000," Taitz said. "Most of them are contributing maybe $20, $25 dollars, there's a lot of support."...

As she did last year, Taitz on Monday once again compared herself to Nelson Mandela. "Nelson Mandela was in prison for years, he went against the regime, but ultimately he prevailed," Taitz said. The fine, said Taitz, "was means of intimidation and harassment."...

Then why did they demand McCain fulfill the requirement??

Who are "they," and when did they make this demand?

Ditto. I’ve read some of her pleadings and they’re technically deficient in many ways. Judges don’t take kindly to violations of their court rules. While I think she’s on the right track, she really needs to hire a good paralegal or legal secretary who’s familiar with that sort of thing to help her out ... and while she’s at it, maybe cut back on the caffeine or something. And — said it before, but I’ll say it again — if he has nothing to hide, why is he spending so much $$ hiding it?

"Asking the Constitution be upheld by checking an ID is now considered frivolous and a political agenda??"

The birther's aren't trying to uphold the Constitution. And that's not what was frivolous. Taitz's nutjob filings are what's frivolous.

Psych Dr. is talking to his patient.

“Why do you think you are Napoleon?”

“Because God told me I was!” he answered.

A voice from a couple beds over screams “No I didn’t!”.

‘they’ were the drive-by media in the spring of 2008... Abc, CBS, NBC, CNN, cnbc, etc. They started that once it became obvious he was going to win the GOP nomination

After McCain handed over the info, and he was ruled as eligible, the furor died down around April timeframe. In June 2008, they asked 0bama for the same information, once it was clear he would have the nomination. He has not complied to the request yet... And has a spent $2.9m to keep people from getting the information

Really, a 10 second google could have answered the question

Have you even taken the time to read one page of Dr. Taitz’ motions? How do you know the “clerks” in the Supreme Court are not guilty of altering records?

You never see anything from the Supreme Court with an ink signature from a Justice-- not in Orly's case, not in any case. All you ever get is a letter from the Clerk of the Court (who is a permanent official, not a Justice's law clerk-- Orly seems to be confused between the two positions), saying that the Court denied a motion or denied certiorari.

The Constitution is fairly clear on this matter. If expecting it be adhered to makes one a birther...

I have no problem being a birther

In June 2008, they asked 0bama for the same information, once it was clear he would have the nomination.

He made a paper copy of his certification of live birth available for inspection at his campaign office. Factcheck staffers took pictures and posted them on the internet. In contrast, while McCain showed a hard copy to a reporter, he never allowed it to be photographed and posted.

If that's not enough, Hawaii's department of health director publicly stated that Obama's vital record shows he was born in Hawaii.

If that doesn't satisfy you, nothing will, which is why he isn't going to give you more.

And has a spent $2.9m to keep people from getting the information

That is simply not true. It amazes me how unverified rumors get accepted as if they were gospel truth around here.

Really, you should understand something before emoting your feelings on the subject. Emoting twice does not make your feelings reality

A certificate of live birth is not the same as a birth certificate. I really don’t have to go into the differences... You should do your homework

As for the health director...that’s simply not what was said. Saying they have birth records, is not the same as saying they indicate he was born there.

As for the cost, talk to Perkins coie
