Thank you, dear VR. I’ll find quiet time today to read the linked Anti-Federalist #17.

Careful with the blanket statement. My father has been an attorney for 56 years. There isn't a more honest person or fair person.

Exception noted and very much appreciated. Despite my bluster I do know and believe that there are "good honest" lawyers out there. Most are of the older group and most are working in civil law in smaller towns. God Bless 'Em.

To paraphrase an old cliche'..."Its the other 98% that gives this group a bad name."

Joe Miller, a decorated Desert Storm veteran, Bronze Star recipient, and Yale law school graduate, engaged in a debate with Republican Party hack Lisa Murkowski. At one point Joe Miller asked Murkowski why she continued to support programs that are outside of the constitutional mandate of limited federal government... Her response reveals much about her lack of acumen and why she was reportedly inept as a lawyer. Murkowski responded that the nation would be in a difficult place if it only funded things that were explicitly authorized in the Constitution. She said, "I'll give you a very specific point. In our Constitution it specifically provides for funding for a Navy and an Army, but it does not specify Air Force. Are we to suggest that perhaps we should not be funding our Air Force because it's not included in the Constitution?"
In that case, Obama and the other opponents of the F-22 are bigtime Constitutional literalists. Thanks onyx.

I hope Miller can win; the McPain renomination on Aug. 24 will be all the news. Maybe there is a small hope for AK but none for AZ. People in AZ would jump over the Grand Canyon to get more pain from McPain.

Thank you for pinging your list!

Joe Miller is Ready to Win for Alaska!

~Snip~

Alaska is so full of potential for great private sector jobs and responsible resource development for the future of the Last Frontier – if only the federal government would stop its overreach and let Alaska thrive. We need a Senator who understands this and promises to stand up for Alaska and fight Washington’s liberal agenda. We’ll get that in Joe Miller!

We’re pleased to learn that recent poll results show the Alaska senate race between Joe Miller, a decorated Desert Storm war veteran, former judge, and proven Commonsense Conservative, and incumbent Lisa Murkowski is getting very close. Joe Miller has surged in the polls and is gaining strong momentum, while Lisa Murkowski has taken a big downward loss.

Alaskans are learning more about Joe. Here’s what we know: We know that Joe will not vote for amnesty for those who break our laws, but we know Lisa has already voted for amnesty – on May 25, 2006 on S. 2611, and voted against funding for the border fence. As Joe says: “It is a simple question. Are we a nation of laws? I believe we are. Therefore, the President must enforce our immigration laws as written and secure our borders, not sue the state of Arizona for acting where the federal government has failed to do so.”

Joe’s campaign needs to raise about $30,000 for a crucial final media buy. We can do it if we all pull together. Please go to Joe’s website and donate to his campaign!

Let’s raise $1,000 for each of the 30 years this senate seat has been locked in by the Murkowski family.

Lame stream is dying for the corrupt Murkowski to defeat “Sarah’s candidate,” Joe Miller.

Joe Miller just might pull off a win that’ll be heard in the lower 48. I so pray and invested.

The alleged example of the existence and maintenance of an Air Force as a power assumed by the federal government which is not given to it by the Constitution was a foolish statement by Murkowski. Usually that kind of ignorance regarding the Constitution comes from the Democrats these days.

Even if the Air Force is not explicitly mentioned in the legislative powers granted to Congress by Article I, Section 8, it can be easily justified under the "necessary and proper" clause, in relation to the power to "provide for the Common Defense."

As for Murkowski, she is showing that her original appointment to the Senate by her governor father was a case of nepotism.

Sarah Palin, BTW, was interviewed as a potential candidate for that vacant Senate seat at the time, but was passed over for the governor's daughter. Not surprising that Palin is endorsing Miller in this primary race.

Wow! Lisa is dumber than Boxer.

As I pointed out in my earlier post, blatant ignorance about the Constitution is usually a Democrat thing. Murkowski proves that it crosses party lines sometimes.

Early voting takes place in Alaska too, but only Republicans and Independents can vote in the Republican primary. That leaves out Lisa’s democrats who continue to reelect her.

Joe Miller is her first real primary competiton and he’s surging at the right time, (I so pray and hope).
