In the wake of Glenn Beck's hugely successful Restoring Honor rally held in Washington, D.C. this weekend, the Huffington Post has published an offer of $100,000 to anyone with evidence that would destroy Beck's reputation and take him off the political/cultural battlefield.
An essay written by Beau Friedlander, the last editor-in-chief of Air America before it shut down this year, was posted in the Politics section of the Huffington Post today with the title, $100,000 For Glenn Beck's Sex Tape.
Friedlander says he will not use his own money for the hit, but that he will "broker" the deal.
It is time to pop the tea baggers' favorite balloon (so what if it will be replaced by another?), and with that in mind I hereby offer to negotiate a $100,000 payday to the person who will come forward with a sex tape or phone records or anything else that succeeds in removing Glenn Beck from the public eye forever. I am not offering the cash myself, but I will broker the deal and/or raise the money for what you bring to the table. (And it better be good.)

Friedlander couches his offer in the context of Andrew Breitbart's offer of $100,000 for the Journolist listserve messages, but this is more in line with pornographer Larry Flynt's blackmail campaign against Congressmen during Bill Clinton's impeachment, which followed a threat from Clinton conveyed by George Stephanopoulos to expose their sex lives.
Likewise, the Huffington Post has ties to the Obama White House, raising the question of whether the White House is behind this targeting of Beck.

Does Beck have political aspirations? I was under the impression that he does not. Plus, he’s the first to admit he’s made a lot of serious mistakes in his life. Anyone who’s watched him or listened to him would know this, and wouldn’t care much about whatever the libs turn up.
Beck’s already inoculated himself against dirt from his early life; it’d have to be pretty recent to do any damage.

Beck has pretty much been free about airing his past dirty laundry, so even if something like this came out, unless it was very recent, I don't think it would cause much of a stir.
If it was from say 10 or more years ago, it would do little more than validate Beck's life story.

Everyone likely has something they would not want splashed on public pages. If not them then a close family member. The best thing about Beck is he has been upfront about himself, admitting his battle with alcohol, etc. But this is the sort of thing that causes many good people not to want to get involved in a public position. Why would anyone want to put themselves or their families thru this? It doesn’t matter if you’re on the side of right. In fact, if you are, expect for these very evil people to do whatever they can to take you down. And I doubt they care if the video or photos are real. Only that they are convincing to an increasingly easily fooled public. This really is bread and circuses.
That tape is right next to the “magic spittle” tape from the Obamacare Capital Steps Brewhaha
Friedlander is just an average liberal, asking others to put money where his own mouth is.
Becks already recieved death threats and a IRS audit, this is NOTHING.
What needs to be trumpeted at this point is that

That is very true, but I think this would backfire on the Loonies..Beck would have more followers and be more popular than ever. A sex tape is about the only thing that makes the famous more famous. Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson and Kim Kardashian are sure idolized in this country. It would be no different for Beck.

Beck already opened his closet and threw it out on the floor. He in no way tries to portray himself as anything remotely equivelant to a saint. Their level of despiration is astounding.
None is least assailable as a sinner who confessed his sins and Glenn is in a regular state of admission on both his radio and TV shows. Just goes to show how much these losers really know their competition.
