CNN doesn’t mention that they’re Muslims, either. Just ‘passengers’. Those Amish have a lot to answer for.
ABC News did mention their names.
A mobile phone taped to a Pepto Bismol bottle, three mobile phones taped together and three wrist watched taped together.
Gotta be a dry run.
Odd items? A marital aid is an odd item. A stuffed parrot is an odd item.
They were mock bombs.
Was the pair flying to a Quaker meeting?
The damned TSA picking on Mennonite watch collectors again.
I always duct tape my Pepto Bismol to my collection of personal electronic devices before I fly to Europe. Doesn’t everyone? Also, I never leave home without my box cutters, in case I happen upon some boxes that need cutting, and I am sure I am not alone in taking that precaution.
The article is either poorly written or you have to wonder why they were allowed to fly to Schipol after US inspectors found the items in their checked luggage. ??
The Compost article also failed to include “a box cutter and three large knives”, which was reported in the original ABC report.
So the WaPo article makes it look like these terrorist lead men were found to be carrying only some “innocent” items like taped-together watches and the like.
I wonder why The Compost failed to include that little detail. Sloth? Ignorance? Horrible reporting? Deliberate distortion? Trying to help out the Muslim terrorists? You make the call.
(BTW, I posted a comment at WaPo and noted the omission for future readers.)
Mohamed Nasser al-Soofi and Hezam al-Murisi. Mentioned a few paragraphs from top. No mention of religion; but of course, they could be Mennonites. . .
The final insult. . .the last sentence:
"We don't know yet if these two end up being bad guys or are just really strange people," said one official.
For sure, IMHO; 'strange' does not begin to describe their appearance in photos.
Their story easily leads one to 'bad'. ..and much worse. And nothing strange about that.
????
The link above to the Washington Post does show an article with both their names.
Did that change from an earlier edition?
Did embarrassment affect them?
Did you imagine the whole thing?
