NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell [Update: NRSC now says it will support O'Donnell]
Fox News | 14 September 2010

Full statement by John Cornyn, head of the NRSC:

“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee – and I personally as the committee's chairman – strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware.

“I reached out to Christine this morning, and as I have conveyed to all of our nominees, I offered her my personal congratulations and let her know that she has our support. This support includes a check for $42,000 – the maximum allowable donation that we have provided to all of our nominees – which the NRSC will send to her campaign today.

“We remain committed to holding Democrat nominee New Castle County Executive Chris Coons accountable this November, as we inform voters about his record of driving his county to the brink of bankruptcy and supporting his party's reckless spending policies in Washington.

“In the weeks ahead, we will decide where to best allocate additional financial resources among the large number of competitive races at stake this November. While it's not in Republicans' interest to advertise our spending strategy to our opponents, it's worth noting that just yesterday, the NRSC's first independent expenditure ad aired in support of Dr. Rand Paul's campaign in Kentucky, where we firmly believe that he will win in November.

“It remains to be seen whether national Democrats will provide a similar level of support for many of their nominees, including in key battleground states like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, Arkansas, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Democrats' indecision reflects the fact that Republicans are on offense in at least 12 Democrat-held states and we are leading in the polls in seven of those 12 states.

“Finally, on the matter of the New Hampshire Senate race, while the results remain outstanding, we continue to monitor the Republican primary race, and we stand ready to fully support whichever candidate is chosen as the nominee.”

I was disgusted with Carl Rove attitude with O'Donnell's win tonight. He has turned on her and says she will not win in the General.

I never thought I would dislike Rove, but this is it for me, he too is a RINO. They all have their money ties together and are scared S---tless about loseing their positions. THIS IS WAR now.

I watched that too. That was a disgusting display by Rove. What a pig and a sore loser. His guy had lost, yet he couldn't put it behind him and show support for the GOP nominee. I guess he will be campaigning for and contributing to the Jackass nominee in Delaware.

Rove is just a ruling class pig and I have no more use for him.

Castle voted to move forward impeachment of Rove's former boss of many years, and yet Rove has his nose up Castle's a**. Very bizarre.

Rove should have kept him mouth shut and opinions to himself.
that being said he is probably looking at this on the basis on who would have had a better shot at winning the seat. I hope she can win in November but she apparently will have a lot of ground to make up last poll i saw had her over 20 points behind that Coons guy

Ok, I admit that I don’t know much about Christine O’Donnell. What is it that makes the Republican establishment so concerned about her honesty and character?

My eyes are being opened more and more to the enemy that we are fighting - its the RINO’s. No more of my money going to any Republican fund raisers. I’ll send checks to individual conservative candidates.

Sadly, Nevada seems to be the only state that offers “None of the Above” on the ballot. Unfortunately, nobody seems to know what happens if “None of the Above” wins.

The human being with the most votes wins.

"None of the Above" is the functional equivalent of throwing your ballot in the trash because that is where it ends up.

I have ZERO doubts in my mind that Rove would love to see conservatives win.

Rove is an insider and if the grassroots Tea Party is effective, it means that he and all his insider buddies are irrelevant.

I have completely lost all respect for Rove after tonight. May Piss be upon him.

Just curious: is anyone on the board actually contributing to the NRSC now? I see no reason why anyone would, and I second the idea: just send money directly to the candidates. It isn't as if solid conservatives who are short on cash can't get their needs broadcast via the new media; who needs the NRSC? Starve them of cash, and let them either reform or dry up and blow away.

Don’t donate to the party - donate directly to the candidate.

Yep..That's how I've been doing it for years.

Lets see O’Donnell was fine in 2008 candidacy for a Senate Run...NOW she is worthy of precous RNC (republican donor) money. WELL GUESS WHAT RNC, YOU ARE NOT WORTHY OF rEPUB DONOR MONEY EITHER. Direct donations to Candidates is the ONLY anwser.

NRSC Will Not Support O'Donnell In General Election

The feeling is mutual, very much so.

"Then its time for the people to show the NRSC how worthless they are and that we can crush them next."

Jim DeMint's Senate Conservatives Fund is looking more and more like our insurgent vehicle within the rotten GOP Senate.

“REVOLT! No money whatsoever to the repubs until they reverse this. Start with local candidates too. THey will complain up the chain with more of a voice than we will have.”

Exactly - support candidates directly. No more money to the establishment!

This may hurt in the short run (although I don’t think it will), but as part of the longer war it is necessary. Sides are being chosen, and the tsunami is on our side, not theirs.

Great post. I think any pain will be on the side of the establishment RINO party, and it will be self-imposed. We may have some imagined pain in a purging, but the incredible benefit derived from the "cost" will be well worth it.
