I have an idea - BHO should start an ad campaign slamming the Tea Partiers as out-of-touch radicals, racists, and class enemies! That’s pump his numbers up!

I'm surprised. Usually the weekend bumps him up a few points. If -19 it when best he is going to do this week then it is going to be a wild ride.

Although this number makes me momentarily happy, I have to also realize that by tomorrow, he could be doing lots better. These numbers are down one day, up the next. The only thing I find encouraging is looking at the long-term trends—it’s been downhill for him since the bloom came off the election rose.

I’m not surprised, after all he did go to church, I sure his supporters saw that as a sign of weakness!

I just found out that, of the 26% who strongly approve of the way Obama is running the country, 96% wear tinfoil hats.

I figure the real number must be around -17. It fluctuates too much for the daily deviations to be meaningful.

Unless something serious happens, it will stick at -17, and the days where it’s -13 or -21 mean nothing.

I should start my own polling service. :)

Still, the country can’t be saved if only 45 percent disapprove of Obama.

rasmussen and his sine wave polling... down to -20 to -22 and then back up to -15 or so and rinse and repeat.

The Kenyan Association of Email Scammers would love to get the email addresses of the gullible 26%.

Since the Tea Parties are composed largely of private sector players scared out of their wits by Obama’s verbal and fiscal assault on capitalism, attacking the Tea Party specifically will be taken as....PERSONAL, and will constitute the most significant blunder among many since he was elected.

>> Usually the weekend bumps him up a few points. <<

Simply a myth. I don’t know why so many Freepers continue to believe it. A study of Ras’s data, stretching back a year or two, will show there’s really no systematic “weekend” effect that favors the Dhimmis.

(I used to do just such an analysis from time to time, and I reported my findings on more than a few occasions at FR’s daily “Rasmussen thread.” But no matter. Within a day or two, yet another poster — obviously somebody who didn’t follow these matters closely — would again perpetuate the myth about the alleged weekend effect. Therefore, having better ways to occupy my time, I finally gave up trying to persuade anybody!)

There was a Rasmussen piece posted here over the weekend that showed Zero at -35!!! among ‘independents’...people that were NOT registered as either Democrat OR Republican...can’t find the info at Scott’s site, though...

Cool, thanks for crunching the numbers. I guess it is just chalked up to random variability. I had seen all the posts about the weekend effect, and once you expect to see something, it is easy to find data points to back it up (After all 3/7 bumps would be during a weekend in a simple random sample).

The chart has been all over the place as of late. To be honest as long as it stays under -10 I think we are OK.
