I am driving to Houston this weekend rather than subject myself to an airport constitution-free zone.

It pretty much takes a day if I fly or if I drive, so I might as well drive.

What needs to happen is about a two week boycott of all air travel. After that maybe we could get some common sense restored within DHS.

I’m hardly a fan of the TSA.

That stated, all one has to do is view the huge PILE of knives, guns, box cutters, stun guns, various mace type products, that are left at the end of EACH DAY at EVERY MAJOR AIRPORT after being confiscated by TSA to realize this pilot is either oblivious to reality, or has an agenda.

If TSA had any sense of public relations, they would show these PILES OF WEAPONS via the internet, every single day.

I agree with the pilot.

I sure do miss the days when my family could see me off at the gate, and meet me just as I was exiting the plane.

They promised us Trusted Traveler years ago.

Here at RIC, they put almost everyone through the Porn-o-scan (as I call it). It delays the line unbelievably.

And yes, the pilot is correct: it does not accomplish a damn thing. As a 2 million mike flier (nearly 300,000 miles a year), I can tell you there are holes in so-called “airport security” that you could fly a 747 through.

I agree with the pilot.

If the pilot wanted to cause havoc on the flight he has all he needs between his training and what is between his ears. Crew members are an easy target for the envious big shot wanna be's that masquerade as TSA security guards.

You do realize that those "knives, guns, box cutters, stun guns, various mace type products" are being carried around by people all around you on a daily basis without ever being used for anything nefarious, right?

What they'd be used for is to thwart the next batch of Islamofascist terrorists, but thanks to the TSA everybody on the flight is defenseless against the real potential terrorists, who often are uninspected because to do so would be "racial profiling."
