Liberals worry GOP will attempt to impeach Obama
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/05/2010 | Caroline May

With the House now firmly in Republican hands, some on the left have and are voicing concerns that the GOP will attempt to impeach President Barack Obama.

While liberals, such as MSNBC’s Ed Schultz, the New Republic’s Jonathan Chait, and various bloggers wring their hands over the sinister hypothetical, the Republican leadership is denying that they have even considered the possibility.

“Liberal commentators are simply making things up,” Republican leader John Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel told The Daily Caller. “We have no plans to [impeach] the President. Our plan is to listen to the American people, who want us to stop the tax hikes, cut spending, repeal and replace ObamaCare, and help create jobs.”

Why would we want to impeach the poster boy for failed Marxism? Obama will be cut off from power like a bubble boy by early spring.

The difference was because Clinton could not run again, while 0bama still can, and it might help him.

The Clinton impeachment processes started in early 1998 with Ken Starr's investigations. The official recommendation by the House Judiciary Committee was voted on early October, and the full . In November, instead of winning additional seats like many people projected earlier, the Republican lost 5 seats in the House, and didn't gain anything in the Senate. The first time in many decades a party not in the WH failed to gain in the House. Probably learning from the election results, in early 1999 the Senate acquitted Clinton, with 10 Republican Senators voted for 'no'.

By 2000, people wanted to forget about the impeachment process. Gore was, well, Gore. Mr. Stiffed and know-it-all. In the Senate, the Democrats picked up 4 seats, and as you have mentioned, the Republicans lost 2 seats in the House despite winning the highest ticket.

Whether we do (impeach him) or not doesn't matter. We need to investigate his administration, such as it is, to determine the depth and breadth of the corruption. That there is corruption in the obama White House is a virtual certainty. Too many signs have slipped out through the lapdog lamestream media, and where there's smoke, there's generally fire.

With good investigations we can tear apart many of the radical liberals now infesting the administration. You can thank us later Democratic Party for cleaning your house. If well timed, it will make it extremely difficult for a Democrat to get elected even as dog-catcher in 2012.

While there is value in tearing up the liberals, both for the good of the Country and just for sport, it will also put them on edge. For the remainder of their terms and service in the administration the radical socialists are going to have to be much more circumspect, slow down, maybe even obey the law or at least not violate it so flagrantly. (eg. offering administration jobs for dropping out of races etc.)

In the mean time, hanging that huge sword of impeachment and disgrace over the liberals' heads will be fun. It'll be nice to see them running around, wringing their hands, and on the defensive for a change.

I say full speed ahead with the investigations. If we happen to turn up enough criminal activity to impeach, then great. If we don't, there's still value in the process.

If the GOP were smart they’d avoid taking the bait on this one. Let the Dem congress-critters raise the stink to the media and push for the toppling of their flawed titular head.

If they want him gone let them be the ones to push Humpty Dumpty.

Unless firm evidence of serious malfeasance comes up, there are better ways to go at this time than impeachment, and you've both hit it. The main thing now is to stop Obama from doing more damage to the country, and try to at least start the process of repairing the damage he has already done. The former is the short-term tactic, the latter a longer-term proposition. We have the House, and that gives us the power of the purse, so let's use it to neutralize those parts of the Obama agenda that we can. It's a solid argument, one I use with my family all the time (”These things might be nice to have or do, but we don't have the money.”)

Criminality shold be prosecuted in the courts. Defunding Obamacare and cleansing the entire system of the Commie stench will require every ounce of energy the new Congress has.

It appears that the Obots know that The One is not legit and a crook to boot. Otherwise, why all the angst?

No...you investigate his underling progressives who are doing the dirty work therebye isolating Obama from ever really being effective...then you hang Obama around the liberals’ necks like a flaming tire “necklace”(kenyan style) in 2012!

You wrote that as part of the quote-it wasn’t. There are no plans to do this. But the writers and liberals WANT America to think this plan is in place. It well make Americans on the fence go negative against conservatives and make all the news about impeachment and NOT about obamacare and policies of this horrific administration that are destroying our nation. That is their goal. They think we are stupid.

I wholeheartedly agree. Hammer his cabinet officers and crucify his multitude of czars. None of that will create any uproar in the ranks of unwashed liberals. Decimate his administration's "middle management" so to speak and you've cut him off at the neck; the remainder will wither on the vine.

With a Democrat senate, there's no chance of an impeachment conviction, so why stir up a tempest when we don't have to. If the Community Organizer In The United States (COITUS) becomes radioactive for the Democrat Party, let them do the dirty work themselves. If they don't, we can still hang the anger and outrage of Americans around his skinny neck like a giant albatross, and it will only do us good for 2012.

Good point...start with these criminals:

Eric Holder (where to begin with this clown?)
Valerie Jarrett
Jesse Jackson Jr. (offered bribe to gain O’s senate seat)
Rahm Emmanuel
Jan Shakowski (and Shorebank)
Nancy Pelosi (elegibility certification)
All the czars (including what they are being paid)

From there branch out...

Rather than impeach the President, the policy should be to destroy.

Obama is but the visible part of the cancer. The cancer must be eradicated. The institutions and organizations must be destroyed, burned to the ground and then salted. The Obama legacy must be made to die in the general conflagration.

I know you highlighted your additon to the quote, Because I must be braindead, I thought your highlighted by black type meant it was the part of the quote you most enjoyed. When I read the article-and could not find that part I was kinda relieved that it was not said. Guess I depend on quotation marks begining and ending the actual quote-or angled print to demonstrate actual quote. Sorry if I offended you.

Seems to me he has worked hard to earn the right to be impeached and sentenced to be keel hauled under the USS RONALD REAGAN for Treason of the worst order and degree.

I still not believe that this is going to hurt the Republicans for the fact that Obama has a lot more dirt on his hands that can be traceable than Clinton.
There are many dynamics that are different than back in 1998.
The American public is ticked off at this Administration and Congress.
