The Senate has just voted to end debate on a bill that would lift the ban on gays serving openly in the military, essentially clearing the measure for passage and signature by the president.

Lawmakers voted 63 to 33 to end debate on the current policy, put in place by former president Bill Clinton, informally known as "don't ask don't tell."

The Senate could vote on final passage of the measure as early as today but it will most likely happen on Sunday or Monday.

"We are on the verge of ending 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' for good," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said after the vote "This is one of those moments in our history when we stepped up and squared our policies with the values this nation was founded upon."

why some seem to not understand where conservatives stand and what your rules are is beyond me.
Why they call themselves conservatives is beyond me too as thinking homosexuals are normal and killing babies is not important is disgusting.

The GOP had better start speaking up on social issues too as of right now they have been cowards and that goes many talk show hosts and TV hosts.

Sorry to say, you know why? Because so many people have the perspective you do.

Why are we always the ones that have to be on the defensive?

It’s about time we quit accepting that their victories are permanent and ours are temporary.

Let’s put THEM on the defense for once.

Apparently, some people think they can be for abortion rights, homosexual rights, etc, and still be counted as conservative. Not so. They’re simply useful idiots for the left.

The people you describe are libertarians. They are nothing more than hard-core leftists bordering on anarchists who happen to own guns and don't like taxes.

They are delusional if they think they belong here and they are a cancer on the conservative movement.

Not being Jim I did want to offer my two cents

It's like a curfew if you're still living in your parents house. You know the rules, you break them you pay. Some things are not open for debate. In other words right is right and wrong is wrong

Anyone already in favor of the normalization of the gay lifestlye will be more likely bent on learning us and not the other way around. Knowing the rules they should be silent if they choose to remain here for all the other discussions.

"Everything is a tool to achieve that end and they can’t win as long as we hold on to our American values. Once we abandon those, their victory is assured."

It seems to me that we are nearing a majority in our own congress that has already abandoned both principles and values.

yes.. well, the RULES at my parent's house were a little more clear and consistent.

And, on the occasion that I DID break them... my parents didn't kick me out of the house and change the locks.

But then... my parents loved me. Even when I sometimes disagreed with them.

Are you kidding? You ever visited any of the Homosexual agenda threads??? I and others have been debating ourselves blue in the face since I signed on in 2002! Every agument the pushers of the fag agenda make has been shot down, pulverized and revealed to be lies thousands of times!

(Just [posted the above to another person who thinks “debate” with faggots is a good thing!)

It is impossible to reason with people who are wedded to Evil with a capital E.

No need to thank me; my service in itself was honor enough, but you're very welcome nonetheless.

What a fine person and retired soldier you are. I am honored to make your cyber aquaintance.

Reality is reality...

You speak truthfully, and eloquently, to the female warrior myth and to the ultimate realities of homosexuals in our military.

This is bad...beyond bad. This is a death sentence for the military, and for our national security.

To say that I am horrified by today's events would be an understatement. I lost my father, a 25 year veteran, last year and miss him every single day. I find it ironic that right now, the only thing I can find to be thankful for is that he isn't here to witness this. May God have mercy on us all.

One of the links shoots down the survey. It can be shot down even more due to the fact it was not an honest survey at all. This a dark day for our Republic. Very dark.

You ever visited any of the Homosexual agenda threads???

Ummmn.. no. I'm typically not drawn to threads regarding the Homosexual agenda.

posted the above to another person who thinks “debate” with faggots is a good thing!)

The person who got zotted was not a "faggot"... which, by the way, I think is a hateful term to use... but, that's beside the point.

It was a married lady expressing an opinion about the effect of DADT on the military of today. I happen to think she was wrong... and, several people were in the process of explaining to her why she was wrong.... when JR shot her.

I attempted to say I believe this was a bit of a QUICK ZOT... friendly fire, if you will. But, whatever... it's his site. If we wants to liberally elminate readers... that's his prerogative.

And now, for expressing my own opinion.. I apparently have several people angry with me. Lovely.

Merry Christmas, all...

God bless you and your father. I give you my thanks for his service, on his behalf. My father retired after 31 years service in the US Army; he's a proud old tanker, and I hesitate to even bring this subject up with him. It has to have taken something out of him, and I'm afraid to ask what he's thinking.

"Scared" and "frightened" are words that are often misused, but today I think I am truly frightened for the future of our nation. One of the few things we've always been able to count on...the strength and solidity of the Armed Forces...is now is question, and that scares the living hell out of me, pardon the French.

I can hear the howls of laughter coming from enemy capitals...Mexico City, Riyadh, Tehran, Caracas, Pyongyang, Moscow, Beijing, Damascus, etc...at the thought of how easy it's going to be to do in our nation once and for all.

Congress is about 90% lost already. I’m talking about the people losing their values. The ones that vote for slavery in the form of the tax/entitlement cycle are lost. Now, all we have left are the ones who can see the damage that is done to people’s humanity through handouts so they keep working, even though they are barely treading water.

With the engineered destruction of the economy and its massive unemployment, good people are being pushed towards a place where they have to embrace serfdom or starve.

The people in government and corporations that see themselves as the future Lords and Barons in the new feudal system are tripping over themselves to drive us into ruin so they can “rescue” us from poverty...and all we have to do is surrender our freedom and all human rights.

Alter Kaker has been a troll here for years. It is amazing that he still breathes on this site. Him calling me a faggot is hilarious in its absurdity. I think my wife might disagree with hom on that one :) The guy is a traitor of the highest order, so I would not be surprised by anything spewing from from his mouth.

I lived in SF. And I’ve studied the homosexual agenda since the late 80s. Fought against it and known friends who did, and suffered materially. (Business closed down, radio show shuttered, slander, etc).

Faggots call each other faggots. “Homosexual” is actually a propaganda word invented by a pervert in Germany, in the latter half of the 19th century to give a sense of special identity to those who buggered boys and men.

It’s as bad as “gay”, really.

Any zotting of people supporting, either obviously or in a roundabout way, the fag agenda, is a cause for celebration.
