When we next have a somewhat conservative government it would be wise to split a number of states away from the union. If this was attempted when demos are in power millions would die.

The new Red Free States would thrive and the rest would begin to starve.

Some worry that socialist infiltrators would take up residence in the new free states and try to rot them from within. But so long as the free states have absolutely no welfare system of the sort the US has now there will be a strict limit to the number of undesirables that could do this.

Other states could be encouraged to join the new free state union as long as they abide by its constitution.
-No taxes no vote.
-No welfare programs for the able.

The number of states joining would soon accelerate....leaving the socialist remainder in ever more dire condition.

“I, personally, would gladly risk my life if I thought it would be effective.”

I,m pretty glad the men we call the founding fathers, as well as the men we call heros didn’t and don’t make that rationalization. A Man stands for Truth as he sees it and DAMN the consequences (a man’s gotta’ do what a man’s gotta’ do). But, this being typed by me on the internet automatically makes it the bleating of cowardpussyfaggot, so, whew, there it is, you’re right.

Revolution is a natural process while armed overthrow of government is not. The former is inevitable while the latter is not.
Our forefathers and their families did not take up arms until their government tried to take their arms from them.

Or by it’s other name....EVIL. We are at war with EVIL. (and not just in this country)

The best hope to reverse all this is to gain control enough state legislatures to call for a Constitutional Convention.

An interesting read on this is here:

If I remember correctly, the signers of the Declaration of Independence pledged thier lives, fortunes and sacred honor in defense of their new country. And didn’t most of them lose that which they pledged? Can we do no less?

I think that the widespread infiltration and changing of the public's mind is a valid tactic, but I think you discount the other, more direct tactics a little too quickly. I think they would work, though at a cost.

When we evaluate the chances of success of a hypothetical armed revolution/insurrection, we can look at the Vietnam model for clues as to how this would work, or, for that matter, our own revolution. Vietnam is a good model because it involved a relatively primitive indigenous population against a much better-armed, larger military. Unless the government is willing to engage in indiscriminate slaughter of the population (which would NOT be supported by our military, believe me), then the hit-and-run tactics used by the VC would render large-scale military retaliations by the government almost impossible. The revolutionaries strike a target, then go home and eat dinner as if they are just the same as the peaceable citizens, and the government has no reliable way of knowing who all the revolutionaries were. Sure, they'll get some, but they would not be able to combat the revolutionaries effectively without waging war on the population as a whole, which in turn would turn more people against them. Remember - we live here. We own the land. We ARE the land.

The best beginning tactic of a hypothetical revolution would be the mass demonstrations. Sure the government has non-lethal and lethal means to combat them, but they would merely be reacting, after the fact and after much damage or other effect has occurred. Under those circumstances, they would still have much to fear from such demonstrations, and might modify their behavior accordingly, as they have done for the leftists. However, a better tactic for such demonstrations would be, in fact, counter-demonstrations. As it is now, the Left has no compunction whatsoever about large violent demonstrations with much damage to property. What patriots in our hypothetical revolution could do is meet these demonstrators in force, even engage in hand-to-hand (possibly non-lethal) combat, until the Left is too fearful to mount any more such demonstrations, and their power to intimidate is diminished or eliminated. Then the patriots would own the streets.

The truth is that the Left has gained all of their ground not just from infiltrations of our institutions, but also from mobs who intimidate. We would have to counter BOTH elements if we were to be successful. The main problem with these relatively low-intensity tactics would be the timetable. This isn't the 1950s anymore. The damage done by Leftists in government and other institutions will be realized on a much faster timetable, so long-term strategy for recapture of the country may be too late. Shorter-term strategy may be called for, in our hypothetical scenario, and therefore the guerrilla tactic maybe the best one.

There is another option, it is the most frightening but effective. A coup by a combination of military and political leaders. They could seize control, empty offices of long term bureaucrats and "rebalance" the branches of govt before returning the country to elections and liberty. A balanced budget amendment, return of Senators to State control and redistricting in a manner to make neighborhoods look like blocks of homes would give us our country back.

The line in the Bible, where they speak of the "Beast" and "who could make war with it" has come true. We think of this "beast" as a foreign power, when in fact it is a political beast, controlling four seats of power. The religious, the financial, the educational, and the political. We are already 3/4 of the way to completely under control. The military follows whomever pays them, and who commands them, so they are under the control of the political.

We’ve only lost the war if we’ve lost our own party. While the Republicans have shown a disturbing willingness in the past to grease up and bend over, we’ve seen what can happen when the people get angry and vote. Politicians do listen, and they heard the message of the last election loud and clear.

Our challenge is to keep that anger, and keep it focused on those we send to Washington. With just one election, we’ve blunted Obamacare and frustrated Obama’s plans for a complete socialist takeover. That’s not a bad start.

Not all is hopeless - we can still win this thing.

Being Irish, I tell people to be careful with the word "Revolution" around us. Tell an Irishman there's a Revolution he reacts, "Revolution? Great! Which side am I on?"

The November 2008 elections disgusted me to the point of despair. It was obvious that the Democrats could enact virtually any law they wanted. Obamacare was one example, and the crap that got pushed through during the just expired lame duck session was another example. It also exposed a number of RINOS who MUST be defeated.

I was watching the day Rick Santelli uttered those priceless words; "Tea Party." Those words have resonated from coast to coast, and some long serving Democrats have come to understand their strength.

My hope is that Tea Partiers will militantly continue exposing the treachery, thievery, hypocrisy, lunacy, and oppression by the leftists.

I pray to God that if the 2010 elections were a storm for the Democrats, that the 2012 elections will be a force 5 hurricane for them.

Anyway, I continue to appreciate your excellent sense of humor, and I admire your serious analysis of important issues.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

“the guerrilla tactic maybe the best one”

By guerrilla tactics, I assume you are including the (hypothetical, of course) use of arms against the government.

Well, waging guerrilla tactics against a foreign invader or unelected domestic despot is one thing.

But to do so against your own freely-elected government (as misguided as that government may be), would be considered by many patriots, including me, as a form of treason.

Of course, we’re only talking hypotheticals here.

I would instead urge an all-out attempt to call a Constitutional Convention, as noted in my post #26.

Now, how many advocates of armed action have actually fired weapons in anger or seen a civil war first hand?

Mark Levin was talking about Buffet on a recent show. Buffet likes the estate tax. When the family member dies, and the family has one year to pay the tax to the IRS, Buffet goes in and buys the business at a distressed price. A modern day robber baron. It is vital for the Congressional Tea Party members to fight like tigers to end the estate tax forever.

Well you are partly right. But no state needs to secede from the Union. This is a Civil War we are in and the States need to fight the fight. We cannot have the average citizen out in the street with an AK47.

What most people do not realize is that the Federal Government is actually not that strong. It derives its strength from the acquiescence of the 50 states.

In fact if even 10-12 states stood up and just refused to allow the federal regulations in their states what would happen? A Federal Judge would shortly rule that the Feds have the right to regulate and would order the states to cease and desist. What if they just say “NO”? What if they refuse to institute Deathcare, refuse to follow the EPA gas emmission rules, refuse to adhere to the oil and gas drilling guidelines etc etc. What is the Federal Government really going to do? Try to send troops into 10-12 states? I don’t think so. All of the troops are out of the country. The Feds would then cut off all Federal funding to those states in an attempt to force them to submit. What if the states then just stopped sending in the alchohol, tobacco and gas taxes to the Feds? They could just use that money to run their states. Without that tax money the Federal govt would shortly come to a standstill.

My point is that its not hard to stop this insanity its just hard to get the motivation going. But I do see forward movement with the 20 state lawsuit agains’t Obamacare and the 5 or so states passing their own laws that guns and ammo manufactured and sold in their states are not under the jurisdiction of the ATF. Arizona has passed their own immigration law. This is all good. We need to keep moving forward on states rights and state sovereignty. That is the answer to our problem.
