Tea Party Group Reveals Republican Targets For 2012 (RINOs Lugar, Corker, Hatch, Snowe, Brown)
Tea Party Nation via rttnews.com ^ | 2010-12-27

Posted on 12/29/2010 12:05:57 PM PST by rabscuttle385

(RTTNews) - A prominent Tea Party group sent a message to members on Monday identifying five current Republican Senators that they intend to target in 2012.

Tea Party Nation named Sens. Dick Lugar, R-Ind., Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, Scott Brown, R-Mass., and Bob Corker, R-Tenn., as Republicans that need to be sent into retirement, accusing them of being Republicans In Name Only, or RINOs.

The message cited Lugar's vote against a ban on earmarks as well as a his votes in favor of the DREAM Act and the START Treaty. Hatch was also criticized for being a "pork king" and a co-sponsor of the DREAM Act, which would have provided a path to citizenship for certain young illegal immigrants.

Tea Party Nation blasted Snowe for her votes in favor of the health care reform bill, the START Treaty, and the repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," while the group called Brown " the biggest disappointment of the last year."

Judson Phillips, the founder of Tea Party Nation, said Corker is the group's top target, because he "has done many things to sell out the conservative Tennesseans who put him in office."

"The good news for 2012 is that so many liberals are up for reelection, Republicans are guaranteed control of the Senate and we do not have to pinch our noses this time and support a RINO to prevent liberal control of the Senate," Phillips said.

He added, "2012 will be a very good year for the Tea Party movement and RINO is on the menu!"

Tea Party members had success in a number of Republican Senate primaries in 2010, including in Utah, Florida, Nevada, and Delaware, although their results in the general election were more mixed.

Daniels may be fiscally conservative, but he is still a big nanny stateist.

Agreed! No thanks.

Are Northeast Republicans the Sacred Cows of politics? We don't touch them, because well it's the opinion that's the best we can do in a certain geographic location?

They can continue to ignore the voters that brought them to the big dance demands and vote to please liberals just to keep their seats?

Doing so seems only to allow those RINOS to go further leftward and easy prey to Reid for “bipartisanship” votes.

Brown, Collins, and Snowe has cast some very despicable votes this past year. Some that will cost the conservative movement decades. Now is the time to remove them (Brown & Snowe) when we have to force of the tea party bringing victory in other parts of the country.

Lets GET everyone of em OUT. Scott Brown was Tea Party backed and the sorry idiot votes to the left.

Of course he votes to the left; he is Massachusetts' senator. By and large, these are not RINOs; they are liberal/moderate Republicans. There is no conservative majority. The best Reagan could field was a coalition of Republicans. While I agree with getting the most conservative, electable candidate (who is almost always a Republican), I do not agree with electing Democrats instead, which almost always happens in these situations, and leads to people like Clinton, Pelosi, Reid, and Obama ruling over us. No thanks.

Considering how fat left Mass is, it’s a major miracle they elected somebody even marginally to the right of Ted Kennedy.

Redleg Duke says: “You make a very good point. If conservative Republicans can take over the Senate, Brown will be able to be conservative for at least five years. Folks forget that he has to run for re-election and the Massholes would normally vote for a roadkill sandwich that ran on the RAT Party ticket.

That being said, the “Principled Conservatives” on this forum cannot see beyond their pet hatreds and investments in failure, so expect to be flamed by them for your statement.”

************************************************************

Can you please explain to me how conservative Republicans taking over the Senate would magically turn a leftist-leaner like Brown into a conservative? I guarantee he’ll still be one of those idiot RINOs who’ll work to seek praise from Democrats and the media by being “bipartisan” and “reaching across the aisle”.

I notice you seem to have some disdain toward those of us who would rather fight for a true conservative candidate than throw in the towel and concede seats to a bunch of liberal RINOs... Please tell me again how America has benefited by voting in RINOs?

Murkowski should’ve and would’ve been voted out this election had she not benefited from a rogue Alaskan legislature that suddenly created new election rules specially designed to help her win her write-in campaign. I absolutely detest that woman.

BUMP!

Let's not forget we're fighting a war here people, and wars are won one battle at a time, by carefully choosing the battles and the field. This gives you the advantage. Allowing the Dems to choose the battles and the fields just gives them the advantage. They may be "antiwar", but they sure know how to use the right tactics in the political arena.

You never really know about any of these power lovers and influence peddlers. You have to keep a close eye on them all the time.”

I sincerely believe Marco Rubio is the real deal. There’s no need to worry about him. Pat Toomey on the other hand shocked me by voting in favor of DADT. Given his overall track record for standing up for conservative principles, I’ll hang on for now and give him the benefit of the doubt. That said, this should serve notice that he’s already on a short leash.

You just illustrated the danger of a “national” TEA Party Organization. It is up to the individual TEA parties what happens in their states. If they decide to primary Snowe in Maine, that is their business. In Massachusetts, if they don’t like the way Brown played them and want to run someone against him, that is their business.

The thing RINOs have to fear is that TEA Party members massively vote in primaries. Their typical cocktail party GOP person does not show up to vote in primaries. That gives the TEA Parties a great deal of power in the primary. The elitist RINO class can only come back later and run as an independent like Princess Lisa Moo-cowski in Alaska and Charlie Crisp in Florida.

You can say whatever you want, but if the local TEA parties want their local RINO challenged, they will be challenged. Only the democrats can count on their people mindlessly walking in lockstep. The elitist RINOs wish they had that kind of party.

Perhaps if those RINOs realize they can’t count on the seat being theirs forever (Hatch, Lugar, Snowe), they will pay attention to we the people and will not ride roughshod over the people’s will.

A TEA Party conservative was elected to a statewide office in Maine on November 2nd.....Paul LePage, the conservative mayor of mostly democrat Waterville, Maine. In about a week, Maine will have one of the most conservative governors in America.

The GOP also won control of the State House and Senate, for the first time since the 1960’s.

Our new Secretary of State is a conservative veteran of the Iraq War.

Snowe already has one GOP conservative planning to challenge her in the primary in 2012.

So, there’s hope.

I sincerely believe Marco Rubio is the real deal. There’s no need to worry about him.

I believed Marco the way you did until I saw Mitt's face plastered all over Marco's website and he started speaking out against the Arizona illegal alien law. It cost him some early support. He corrected those mistakes quickly but I will not trust him until I see him in action over a period of time. RINOs can be very tricky. This is especially true of RINOs who have previously been caught.

With Marco it will be fool me once shame on you; fool me twice shame on me. I try to keep from doing shameful things.

Do we stand for nothing?
Using the Republican party name (Republican) should have it’s price. A little loyalty to the platform and principles is NOT to much to ask when you run as a Republican, and it’s really the only thing that keeps us as a party. Blatant betrayal, as in the Snow/Collins, et.al., must mean removal from office.

Yes, it’s a risk, but their replacement will know why he or she won, and will have seen why the Collins/Snow types LOST.

Better an enemy in front of us than a traitor behind us.

This is such an important concept that the Blue Blood GOP Ruling Class needs to get into their head. I include, top of the list, Karl Rove...then Krauthammer, the Bushes and so on.

This from one who's been there, done that and now breathe happy air even though my state is represented now by a communist in the Senate.

For Christine O'Donnell primaried Mike Castle outta there. Mike Castle, a guy who vote FOR the Dream Act, AGAINST the Iraqi surge, FOR CapnTrade....the list goes on. And he did this while being Delaware's only Rep in America's House.

Then Castle decides to run for Senate and what? We should REWARD him for peeing upon our feet while telling us it's raining?

Delaware GOP voters said NO.

Now O'Donnell, a controversial candidate but a perfectly nice woman who I know well, admire but they sure cut her to pieces, didn't they? ...But O'Donnell lost because a)the numbers just weren't there for her....I remind that we had another very conservative candidate running to replace Castle in the House, who lost by the exact SAME margin as O'Donnell. This fellow, Glen Urquhart, ran a splendiferous campaign, go on, I bet most of you never heard of him while hearing day and night about that witch O'Donnell. But Urquhart too lost by a large percentage and mostly because, first, the numbers just aren't there.

Castle and Biden both won all these years because there is, in Delaware, a coalition of DEMS and REPUBS, lots of Independents, that get out there and push these candidates. O'Donnell and Urquhart had no such help, even some evil by the Del. GOP Blue Blood Ruling Class Repubs.

Point is, my guys lost.

But I wake up each and every day, stretch and regard the morning sun, and smile that finally, FINALLY, that awful RINO Mike Castle is gone. Sure, we got Coons, he's a communist. But he's the ENEMY that doesn't lie and spit in my face, all the while smiling and telling me to just vote for him one more time, just one more, I promise THIS time I won't betray you.

If ever there was a lesson given by the Tea Party, God Bless, it's that we'd much rather have a DEMOCRAT who calls himself a DEMOCRAT, voting with the libs, than a Republican lying to us through clenched teeth.

They want the majority so they get the best offices, the chairmanships and golly gee, imagine this, the BASE VOTERS could care less about this and don't want to give up their dignity or have their joy sapped for the likes of Castle, et al.

The Blue Blood GOP Ruling Class needs to GET this concept, putting the wildly charismatic Karl Rove at the top of this list.

For surely, if nothing else, Mike Castle was a living lesson that they went too damn far, that the people are only going to take so much. Instead of berating Delaware's base for finally speaking out, Karl Rove ought to give this notion alittle thought.

This announced Tea Party intent makes me smile. Go after the RINOS with all you got. They'll fall, slowly. Got rid of Charlie Crist, got rid of Mike Castle. Still ended up with Murkowski but give it time. They're walkiing on shifting sands and I see it happening.

The result in the 2012 general election should determine whether Collins gets primaried in 2014, IMHO.

Negative. The result of 2012 election won't matter for 2014 at all much like the result of the 2010 midterm won't really matter in 2012. The result of 2012 and 2014 will absolutely revolve around the perception of Congress, the economy and the President at the time. Nothing else will really matter in Maine and Massachusetts.
