Crash victim wants justice Immigration bills could have allowed for driver's arrest

That's the consensus among America's law enforcement, but it isn't an easy policy for Jim Batton to accept. His son's girlfriend, Amanda Gschwendner, is still recovering in a wheelchair after a violent wreck Dec. 25 on Hitchcock Parkway in Aiken. The driver of the vehicle responsible was an illegal immigrant, who was charged but not arrested before Aiken Public Safety officers sent him to Medical College of Georgia Hospital for treatment.

The driver was released from the hospital and has since absconded, leaving Batton and Gschwendner outraged and pointing fingers at Aiken Public Safety.

"There's just something really off about that," Gschwendner said. "Who's to say he won't hit someone else?"

Public Safety Director Pete Frommer defended the department's actions last week, saying everything was done by the book. There was no way to know at the scene that the driver was an illegal immigrant, and Public Safety doesn't arrest people for traffic offenses other than DUI, Frommer said.

This illegal gamed the system, Batton was at the scene, and a witness in the car behind Gschwendner's told him someone fled from the vehicle before officers arrived. The driver, who gave the false name Justino Arleo-Pool, spoke to the officer through a Spanish interpreter, Batton said.

The driver was talking with officers until he suddenly said he felt bad. He was immediately sent to MCG, where he was treated and released. Batton said he saw no visible injury to the driver.

Asked why the driver was sent to MCG's trauma center instead of Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Frommer said that call is made by medical professionals, not police.Another case of police offering special treatment to illegals. If the above is not enough for police to seek more information ,then at what point is it.Anybody else the law would of been going to the hospital wait it out until you are discharged or become an admit. It would been nice if they would of stated he could or could not provide a drivers license or did his I feel bad was enough to put that on hold. Again with the racial profiling BS.Clue spoke to the officer through a Spanish interpreter, police, hummm let him go or else we will be accused of racial profiling.

I am so fed up with this kind of crap — our citizens are no longer receiving justice in their own country.

Criminals and Illegal Aliens are waving their flags in our face while turning this Nation into the same type of Cesspool & Third World Slum they have created in their own countries that they are now fleeing! But nothing will change as long as votes and money are more important than American citizens lives and the future of this Nation. What is a few deaths like the estimated 25 American killed each day by Illegal Aliens and the tens of thousands robberies, rapes, identify thief etc. etc

And just why is an illegal exempt from arrest?

Citizens in this country are being treated like crap.

If I was an illegal, my life would be so much easier, no taxes, free everything, exemption from obeying the laws of the country and penalties for infractions.

It’s got to stop.

We are treated like second class citizens in our own country. How can any policeman feel OK about this? Just following the book ...allegedly

All immigrant (legal&illegal) criminals always have an out...scramming back to their 3rd world cesspool homeland. I am stuck here if I commit crimes and I go to prison
