Could this be the biggest find since the Dead Sea Scrolls? Seventy metal books found in cave in Jordan could change our view of Biblical history

By Fiona Macrae

For scholars of faith and history, it is a treasure trove too precious for price. This ancient collection of 70 tiny books, their lead pages bound with wire, could unlock some of the secrets of the earliest days of Christianity. Academics are divided as to their authenticity but say that if verified, they could prove as pivotal as the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in 1947.

Lines of inquiry: The metal tablets could change our understanding of the Bible

On pages not much bigger than a credit card, are images, symbols and words that appear to refer to the Messiah and, possibly even, to the Crucifixion and Resurrection. Adding to the intrigue, many of the books are sealed, prompting academics to speculate they are actually the lost collection of codices mentioned in the Bible’s Book Of Revelation.

Don’t worry.

I found my neighbor mixing the wool and linen again. I took care of it for you.

We went out back and got stoned.

Thats what it meant, right?

All knowledge is good, by virtue of being true. What aspects of Christianity have been dropped; because of political strife in ~350AD? What books have been re-written to manipulate politics in the years since they records were origionally written.

Isn’t having a touchstone - something that has remained UNCHANGED for 2,000 years a good thing? Many of the origional texts have been lost - and can never be replaced. Having a reference record, is a good thing.

Consider, just as a point of reference:
First addressed to Peter: Matt 16:19 “I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

and again in Mat 18:18 “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Bind what?

1 Corinithians 15:29 Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

Baptizing the dead is pretty specifically dropped from the rest of the New Testament. Why? What else was censored by an unknown caretaker?

Questions do not indicate unbelief; they are questions of a believer who is intelligent enough to realize that the current record is incomplete.

No; they are conveyers of DOUBT; introduced by a MORMON who wishes to justify the outrageous practice that is performed over and over and over in 'temples' around the word.

You mean in things like selling Indulgences? Or introducing the concept of Superergolism? I need not go into the newest abuses. No person is infalible.

You are placing your trust in the hands of man, instead of the hands of God. Man is, by nature, a sinful creature. A teacher is one thing, but blindly following any man, is setting yourself up for a fall.

Intresting ... bring up 2 quotes in the bible that seem to be incomplete; and instead of shedding some light on this, and asking questions ... you attack Mormons.

I seek truth, you seem to attack anyone who asks questions. Aren’t we commanded to seek, learn and grow in the scriptures? Yet, if you ask the ‘wrong’ question - you are attacked. I don’t seem to recall Christ attacking anyone for asking questions, even questions that would entrap him.

It’s easy to believe in something, if you know nothing about it; ask any Libtard about Social Medicine, taxing the rich, and economics. They believe in their heart that the Democrats are correct; yet they know nothing about what they are talking about, but they believe despite the predictable results.

Perhaps someone discovered the “real” secret of alchemy, the reverse of the popular notion. It turns gold into lead.

Yeah. I think they are called the Pentagon.

I should have been generic, and just said ‘armies’.

They’ve all been good at turning gold into lead.

you are RIGHT!

I DO attack them; because the MESSAGE they bring is HERESY to CHRISTIANITY.

MORMONism is a demonic deception and others want to discuss angels dancing on pinheads.

I ain't got NO time for that!

Yup; that explains MORMONism perfectly!

I suspect what you know about Mormonism would barely fill a thimble, but blast away ...

By their fruits, ye will know them.

Apparently you forgot the verse you quoted about binding and loosing and the gates of Hell not prevailing, oh well it is you who will answer for this.

You are projecting...

There is no mentioning of binding or loosing the gates of Hell, either in the verses, nor in the context of what the verses are discussing.

Nice guess though ... keep searching and asking questions.

Not to mention the fact that armies throughout history have been able to turn gold into thin air as well.

I think it may be a two step process.

Point of order.

Paul, a Benjamite, called himself a Jew.

Philippians 3:5
Acts 22:3

Also, read many references that refer to salvation being given to the Jew and the Greek. Does that mean the Israelite missed out?

You are projecting...

Telling the truth is not projecting, Nice try though.

There is no mentioning of binding or loosing the gates of Hell, either in the verses, nor in the context of what the verses are discussing.

Mat 16:18 And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Mat 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."

Yeah I was pretty sure I had the quote right on the money.

Nice guess though ... keep searching and asking questions.

Looks like I have the answers and you have..... nada, zip, zero, zilch.
