I had the bathrooms in my house designed so when I drop a deuce, my rear end’s facing Mecca.

No problem, RB. Paul affirmed the apostle’s Holy Spirit-given decision to allow Christians to eat whatever is healthful. His warning against eating meat offered to idols was specifically to prevent people from being scandalized into thinking we were participating in that sacrifice. Cultrurally insenstive to Christians? Yes. Idolatry for Christians? No.

I would make sure every time I visit Costco to place a pack of bacon or two among the packages of this stuff.

I love that.

It’s bigger than we thought, but people need to realize this is MORE than Christians eating pagan idol food

It is the submission to Islamic Sensitivities, when a Jewish person eats Kosher, it is sold in a separate section, clearly labeled as such, and known to be Kosher

HALAL meat is NOT known as such!!

When people like you start telling me I must bend over to Allah, I think it is normal to be offended

Throwing in blotted out F bombs make you look so much more intelligent. It saddens me to see FR, I occasionally throw in a d@mn out of frustration, but do we really need to sink even lower?

I can probably count on one finger the times I've done that. I thought Mr. Bannon's post was sufficiently stupid to merit it.

Your irrational fears have got the best of you, Race. Like there's monsters under your bed or something. It's just a hunk of meat.

No, it is a murder cult, telling me that i must submit to their religious desires, and how normal people running businesses that control our food, are now submitting to THEIR religious sensitivities by sacrificing OUR food to their pagan god and that my religious concerns are immaterial

If you cant see the danger in that, it is not me who is irrational

Now concerning food offered to idols: we know that "all of us possess knowledge." This "knowledge" puffs up, but love builds up. If anyone imagines that he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know. But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.

Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that "an idol has no real existence," and that "there is no God but one." For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth—as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"— yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.

However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled. Food will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do. But take care that this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak. For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol’s temple, will he not be encouraged, if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols? And so by your knowledge this weak person is destroyed, the brother for whom Christ died. Thus, sinning against your brothers and wounding their conscience when it is weak, you sin against Christ. Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble. (1 Cor. 8:1-13)

Glad we didn’t renew our membership when it expired.

My wife renewed but I didn't. I refuse to step inside any Costco store after what they did to that man (forget his name) in Las Vegas; because of their employee's stupidity they set up the cops to murder him. Unforgiveable.

“There are some pretty cruel beheadings online, I don’t want to see them again, nor do I recommend you look them up.”

Believe me, I won’t. What I’ve heard and read so upset me, I don’t think my psyche could stand it, and I pray it will never happen here. Very afraid for our dear republic - SO many people just have no idea how serious a threat we face in radical (devout) Islam. They don’t know how much they don’t know, NOR do they seem to care about learning.

This is so silly. Jews will often eat Halal and Muslims kosher as their requirements are very similar. That and “Allah” just means God in Arabic.

I’ve eaten more than my fair share of halal meats during my two deployments and I haven’t grown horns yet.

Kosher and Halal are not even close, that is an ignorant statement

RaceBannon is correct, Halal is not Kosher, observant Jews don't eat Halal meat, it's a non issue.

As I understand it, Kosher meat is Halal, though not approved by the correct authority. In the early days of Gitmo, we served prisoners Kosher MREs, with no complaints. Now we have Kosher and Halal MREs.

Description of Kosher & Halal MREs What’s in each case?

Meal, Religious, Kosher/Halal

Even Kosher for Passover MREs, Kosher, halal MREs feed religious diversity

BBQ MREs will be available by summer.

Of possible interest, an article I didn't bother to post today. Rabbis: EU meat label bid an 'insult' , which relates to the practice of stunning, which the Euros would like to require, as the Swedes have, which makes Kosher slaughter illegal, though under Halal it's fine. Slice the throat after stunning the animal.

I believe the strict Islamic law of slaughter, which is closer to Kashrut other than blessings, is called Dhabihah, but it's not an issue most places.

Oh please. I do stand corrected on Jews eating Halal. That statement came from a Jewish friend years ago who I guess didn’t keep strict kosher. But Muslims will eat Kosher and the manner of slaughter is similar.

I shouldn’t have taken the bait on a so over-the-top thread.

I’ve googled a whole bunch of websites on this and from my research the manner of slaughter is more similar than it is different.

Sure, it’s not the same, but knife across the throat, don’t get the spinal column sums it up. Yes, you’re right there are differences, but the manner of slaughter IS similar. Not the same, but similar as I said.

Race’s assertions that Halal and Kosher are “are not even close” is not borne by the facts of even the most rudimentary research.

Do Kosher butchers praise allah while they are killing the animal?

Did you even catch on to what this thread is about?
