"I just want you to know that we are working on it," Barack Obama reportedly told Sarah Brady regarding gun control. "We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."
This interesting bit of news was reported in an April 11 Washington Post Lifestyle section story about Obama's gun-control and regulatory policy wonk Steve Croley. Toward the end of the article the writer, Jason Horowitz, mentions a March 30 meeting between Jim and Sarah Brady and White House Press Secretary Jay Carney during which the President "dropped in."
Horowitz quotes Sarah Brady relating how President Obama gave his personal assurance that he and his administration were working hard on a gun-control agenda. Brady reported that Obama then told them about advancing the agenda "under the radar."
Apparently Mrs. Brady either doesn't grasp the concept of "under the radar," or, more likely, she expected the reporter to be discreet and keep the "good news" about Obama's stealth operations to himself. Thankfully this reporter chose to report the news, so we have direct corroboration of Obama's sneak-attack against the Second Amendment.
What is truly startling about this story is the way it has been totally ignored by the rest of the media. Compare the media's current silence with what happened during the 2000 presidential campaign when then NRA Vice-President (and GOP activist) Kayne Robinson told a group of rights supporters in California that electing Bush would mean "we'll have a president where we work out of their office, unbelievably friendly relations."

We do learn every day. That hindsight stuff should be available to us before we have to make a decision. That would certainly help me!

Deputy can be notified anonymously the consequences of any un-Consitutional action indirectly or through one of his family members.
If local confiscations begin anyway, why snipe? You know deputy, so his guard will be down at the moment of impact.
When a lib POTUS has to issue a weak meaningless campaign promise response...you know we’ve won.
Thanks for the ping!
So, Obama is undermining the US Constitution “under the radar”. He has no respect for the laws of this nation nor the Supreme Court.
I’ll give him the same respect he gives me and my Rights.

I think that time is coming at us like a freight train.
And, we also, are “working under the radar.”
“I really doubt that the army is going to obey any command that Obama decrees against the American people. Im guessing the Secret Service will take care of him if he ever tries it.”
Then the regressive right wing extremist portion of the armed forces and the Secret Service will have to be purged. There are plenty of idle hands to fill with weapons.
Obama won’t decree the eradication of the American people, just the “obstructionists” who want his plans to fail.
The truly ruthless and despotic ruler will succeed unless stopped by a greater force. There is no greater force to stop the US if it became despotic.
“If the deputy and it would be the deputy, not the FBI or BAT, showed up to get my registered weapons, I would hand them over to him.”
A lot of people who thought like you went for a train ride too,,,in the late 30s early 40s. There is no obligation to obey a law to turn in guns. In fact, a strong moral case can be made that it’s your responsibility to our children to resist such a law.
“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if...We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

“...we were one order away from moving against the American people. I didnt hear anyone talking about not obeying orders.”
But those weren’t the American people — they were hoards of street thugs running out of control, looting, raping and killing at will. And all of your fellow soldiers knew it.
There is a huge difference between facing common criminals and your dad, uncle and grandfather.
Is that the take home message you got from what I said?
Interesting.
Yep, it does.
The alternative sucks worse.
Oath Keepers.
If you try it barry... we will stack your SS troops like cord wood.
Well put!
Yep.
After D-Day, the US Army, made up of mostly “citizen soldiers”, took on the SS and kicked their azzes.
I have a relative who is in the Army.
I told him that he needs to carefully consider what a lawful order is, because one day, he may be asked to fire on fellow Americans.
I filly expect 50% of the LEs and 50% of the armed forces to have no compunction about firing on fellow Americans if ordered to do so.
I am not talking about rioters or looters.
I mean average Americans standing for their rights.
Wait and see how Tea Partiers and conservatives are given the SS treatment by union goons and brownshirts soon.
Simply put: If a law enforcement officer comes and knowingly takes your weapons as part of a confiscation, he is an enemy, no matter his own family situation. Treat him like an enemy as soon and as much as you can. The Jews didn’t treat anyone like an enemy in WWII until it was too late. They got slaughtered. If anyone is taking guns away you had best remember the Jews. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. We need to thin the herd anyway.
