Message: If you're a union bureaucrat, we'll look after you, but a private employee and taxpayer? Not so much.

If she was hired under civil service rules and giudelines by the Office of Personnel management, she darn well knew her status. I will bet that she falls into a “seasonal” category, employed only when there is sufficient need for her services.

The National Zoo certainly sounds seasonal... BUT, she says she’d been working since three years ago and if this was seasonal she’d darn well know it by now.

I’m not unsympathetic. I think they should replace the Senate with the animals at the National Zoo, it couldn’t make things any worse.

You know when I heard this exchange the first time, when Obama said:

“And it frustrates me sometimes when people talk about ‘government jobs’ as if somehow those are ...

... my heart skipped a beat thinking was I actually going to hear:

Obama said. “And it frustrates me sometimes when people talk about ‘government jobs’ as if somehow those GOVERNMENT JOBS ARE GUARANTEED.”

Alas, no. Typical Democrat Liberal pablum instead:

Obama said. “And it frustrates me sometimes when people talk about ‘government jobs’ as if somehow those are
worth less than private sector jobs.

She and her husband are also building a new house..."I thought that — I’d be more important and secure"

In other words, I though that I had a right to other peoples money!

What a country where you can whine to the President of the United States about your personal situation and he will act like he can do something about it. Listen preggo, unless you are Bill Gates or Barack and Michelle Obama, we are all in a tough situation. Take a number and get in the back of the line.

Karin Gallo, a spokeswoman for the National Zoo, told Obama that she’s four weeks away from losing her job because of budget cuts. “Just under three years ago

This child understands nothing. Last in, first out. The higher paid, long term semi-no-ahow hacks must be protected.

"Why?" asketh thou? Simple. It is they who can contribute the most to the party that put them in. Besides, the National Zoo probably has a staff of at least 10 highly paid "spokespersons," and a GS-15 supervisor @ $200,000 + perks, with 3 Assistant Spokesperson Supervisors. Also let us not forget Affirmative Action, although Gallo is a woman, she may be a White Woman, have no mental or physical disabilities, may be conversant in neither Spanish nor Ebonics, and is obviously not a Congressman's girlfriend ...yet.

Rush tore into this one today. He really nailed it and then he made a point about her pregnancy and Obama’s position on Abortion. I'm sure the Libtards are having a cow over that, but Rush always has to have a Media tweak of the day.

Snerdly checked the website for the Smithsonian since they oversee the National Zoo. He found a list of job openings there, so I guess the Woman is too lazy to check the Internet for another position while having the time to take off work to whine to King Soetoro.

I wonder if she got paid not to be at work?

“Workers like you, for the federal, state, and local governments are so important for our vital services,” Obama said.

Yes, a spokesperson for the National Zoo is important for our vital services! Are people really so stupid they are going to buy this garbage?

Rush Limbaugh looked up this woman’s mini-resume online at the National Zoo website. She has a lot of private sector experience, so I find it hard to feel sorry for her.

She got the job TWO years ago, when Hussein’s hiring blitz at the federal level began. No more money means she has to hoof it out in the private sector like other folks who DO NOT LIVE sucking on the taxpayer’s teat.

A federal employee who is on the verge of losing her job

Good.

A lot more need to follow her, and soon.

The American Taxpayer is tired of paying to employee people at pay ratesand in numbers higher than private industry.

We're tired of paying people to work less.

We're tired of the huge packages of perks they manage to get.

We're tired of their endless job security, regardless of how feckless and incompetent they are.

We're tired of their golden parachutes.

We owe these overpaid and underskilled people nothing. They need to put down the pork and come out and compete in the real world with the rest of us.

This child understands nothing.

Too true.

She should understand that the only true job security resides with being able to vote on your own benefits and raises.

I’m stressed, I’m worried. I’m scared about what I — what my future holds. I definitely need a job. And — I just wonder what would you do, if you were me?

Karin Gallo, you are a pathetic excuse for a free American citizen.

After a career in the Air Force...I came to work a decade privately, and eighteen months ago...finally became a government employee (the reasons aren’t worth mentioning).

I’ve sat through various reviews from a distance over looming budget crisis periods. It’s become almost a comedy of sorts...to watch the organizational leadership play with the budget office, and figure out where they can carve off $500k, a million, or whatever. I would imagine that on a quarterly basis...there’s at least 300 man-hours wasted on this carving game for just our organization.

You are correct....there is this priority list and promises made. Labels are attached like essential, emergency-essential, and non-essential. No one would dare question the number of GS15’s or SES’s throughout the entire organization. What is curious is that I’ve watched this in private industry and know that they don’t really waste alot of time on cuts. They know precisely where their muscle is and where their fat is.

She and husband have enough dough to be building their own house? Very few Americans can afford it these days. Must have been that secure Federal job she scored? The party never ends in DC

I do give her credit for slaving away in the dreaded private sector in the past. She has a lot more real world private sector experience than the Kenyan pos.

Very good post! You go to DC and you will find most Federal agencies overstuffed overstaffed with women and blacks and gays over and above their proportion in the population. Way beyond any fair notion of affirmative action.

Not to mention that civil service tests are dead killed by by affirmative action. You want to get hired by a Federal agency you “got to know someone”. I would not be surprised if you have to pay for a job sometimes the way you do in Democrat hack dominated cities like Boston, New York and Chicago. The going rate for a judgeship being $5000...must be $10,0000 these days
