And, as usual, their assertions about legal history are equally false and bizarre along with their historical “facts.”

I dunno.

Seems like the "Sovereign Citizens" I remember killing cops, firemen, school administrators, newspaper reporters, public officials and judges, are the Black Panthers, New Black Panthers, Black Muslims, communists, union bombers, and illegal aliens darker than white.

True, all those won't pay taxes, but certainly do collect 'em, and believe they only have to obey the laws that they want to, plus every one says there's a racist conspiracy used against them.

Yet the SPLC doesn't mention their murderous accomplishments. Must be the wrong color Sovereigns.

“The lame stream media attacking Tea Party and Patriots again.”

And did anyone expect anything else?

Geez. Sounds a lot like the Liberals lately. They don't like a law that a vast majority of voters approved — then get a judge to overrule.

And Libs at the Fed level only enforce the laws that they are for and ignore the laws that they don't agree with... and then claim Supremacy Clause when a State tries to enforce a law that the Liberal Feds selectively ignore.

Since you mentioned ““Violent and dangerous,” eh? They have no idea...”, I’d like to remind all that the Black Panthers, Black Muslims, and other whackos of color have killed far more people than the “Sovereign Citizens” ever will.

At a friends request, I turned on 60 Minutes. That hit piece on the “Sovereign Citizen Movement” was just the Libroid trash I predicted.

Time to collect the colada I bet him it would be.

There is a purpose on Earth for Libroids after all - free coladas!

I didn't expect anything else, but I was amazed how far they have gone with it. They now claim all those supporting sovereignty are now in some secret group that is armed and dangerous. They are going to great lengths to attack us. The 60 minutes piece said we are no different than Jared Loughner.

Seems to me it is the left and the lame stream media that is going loony and wants to attack all those who oppose them. Now the SPLC has conspiracy theories abound about the Sovereign movement.

“The SPLC itself is extreme and bizarre.”

They are ‘advising’ Homeland Security and our police departments.

If ANYONE in govt is ignoring the law... then we ALL should ignore the law as well

This is why those in govt are supposed to FOLLOW the law

“Sovereigns believe that they — not judges, juries, law enforcement or elected officials — get to decide which laws to obey and which to ignore, and they don’t think they should have to pay taxes.”

Oh, why didn’t they just say “Liberals”?

Judges, law enforcement, Banksters and elected officials believe that they - not the tax-paying peasants — get to decide which laws to obey and which to ignore, and they don't think they should have to pay taxes.

Fixed it for ya...

Morris Dees, co-founder of SPLC, is a low-life POS and should be in jail.

The SPLC and, yes, the ADL are extreme leftwing fascist outlets and what will be used by the left to waage war on America. Haven’t listed ADL as a hate group yet, but we’re clearly getting there.

There’s another worrying development too - SITEintel, who has for years been steadfast trackers of jihad, has opened a track on “white supremacists”. It’s been necessary for years, along with the need to track it all. But knowing that Katz does heavy work for the govt, I worry that she’s tacking left and Obamoid and that the whole gig was really about money. That would be very bad.

To be frank, although the SPLC is a certifiable, paranoid nut house, this does not look like it’s talking about anything that goes on among Freepers. Though they’d love to tar conventional conservatives by association, not even they can do it. What this panicky news release is referring to would be a virtually anarchist movement, both unconstitutional and unbiblical. It’s apparently also very, very small.

I read the article an didn’t see any mention of the Tea Party or conservatives. Did I miss something?

I too am confused.

I read the comments and then the article.

The comments don’t seem to refer to this article at all, except those which justifiably criticize the SPLC.

The sovereignty movement is indeed bizarre and has nothing to do with real American conservatism. The only thing they have in common is that both are unhappy with present trends in our society.

The Tea Party smear, that’s to be expected. That type of things only has sway with wacko libs anyway.

This Sovereign Citizens Movement brings a new name but similar groups have always been around, this type of movement is nothing new.

There were some in Texas when I grew up there. After a while, we just called them, “Guys who are going to jail.”
