ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW I LEARNED FROM NOAH'S ARK

1. Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.

2. Stay fit. When you're 600 years old, someone might ask you
to do something REALLY big.

3. Don't listen to critics -- do what has to be done.

4. Build on high ground.

5. For safety's sake, travel in pairs.

6. Two heads are better than one.

7. Speed isn't always an advantage.
The cheetahs were on board, but so were the snails.

8. If you can't fight or flee -- float!

9. Take care of your animals as if they were the last ones on earth.

10. Don't forget that we're all in the same boat.

11. When the doo-doo gets really deep, don't sit there and complain
-- shovel!!!

12. Stay below deck during the storm.

13. Remember that the ark was built by amateurs
and the Titanic was built by professionals.

14. If you have to start over, have a friend by your side.

15. Remember that the woodpeckers INSIDE are often a bigger threat
than the storm OUTSIDE.

16. Don't miss the boat.

17. No matter how bleak it looks, there's always a rainbow on the other side.

18. "Stop what ya doing, and do what God says!"

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

An interesting factoid about the Titanic disaster (a coal stoked steam ship) is that it was thought the coal in its bin managed to catch on fire, a slow smoldering fire. The bin was constructed so such a fire could not spread to the rest of the ship, however it would slowly consume the coal. For whatever reason, pouring water on it was not a viable option (maybe it would render the coal unusable as fuel). So the captain got in a tearing hurry, trying to beat the clock across the ocean before the coal fire ate up all his fuel which would strand the ship in the open ocean. He plowed at insane speeds through what he knew was a field of icebergs. Stupidity reaped what it sowed — it would have been better to have arranged for a second ship with more fuel to meet the Titanic where it was expected to run out.
