NOTICE: FR DOES NOT AND WILL NOT SUPPORT ABORTIONIST, GAY RIGHTS PUSHING BIG GOVERNMENT STATISTS FOR PRESIDENT!!

This message is intended for those posters on FR who seem to have missed my prior statements in this regard and insist on advocating for these bastards.

I'd rather shut the place down than be involved in any effort to install abortionist/gay rights pushing RINOS like Romney or Giuliani into the White House!!

Do NOT push this crap on FR. Take your business elsewhere!! And I don't care how long you've been here!!

Howdy you all! Well done TCH and thanks for my ping, metmom. When I last left this thread, I think it was under 500 posts...lol. I am happy my close friend penelopesire survived her inquisition! Pen is one of our very best conservatives FReepers and I know her in person.
I took yesterday off --- the *grate* Sarah Palin news overwhemed me...lol. Actually, my little, historic town with the military park goes all out for Memorial Day and volunteers make sure that every Civil War grave [17,077, of which 12,909 are unknown] receives a flag. The other 1,280 graves get a flag also, and they're from Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, and the Korean War. I can't do that, because of the bending over, but I helped with my street. Looks wonderful and properly patriotic. Our weather is beautiful with just a slight breeze so every porch has a flag waving ever so slightly. It's enough to bring tears mine eyes.

“If we can get enough conservatives/Republicans in Congress like we did this past midterm,...”

Wishful thinking and highly unlikely. Regardless of his personal agenda, Rep in the White House is going to have to be a tool of a properly constituted Rep Congress. We at least agree THAT’S the key.

I can give you a whole list of things that Obama supports that McCain would not.

re: a “protest” vote.

The problem with that is, in politics, winning is everything, and losing is nothing, not just on election night, but for the next two or four years.

Protest votes are commented on on election night, then promptly forgotten. Remember 1992? Ross Perot gave us Bill Clinton!

Some practical realities:

1: If we can't convince Republicans to nominate a true Conservative for president in the primaries, we certainly aren't going to convince the general electorate to vote for a Conservative in the HOR or Senate races.

In addition, presidential races have coattails, some large, some small. A Conservative 3d party (losing) candidate in the presidential race would result in more Dems being elected to HOR and Senate seats.

2: Even if there was a real swing to Conservatives in HOR and Senate races, only a few seats are really now in play for Republicans. All the easy HOR races were picked off in 2010. All the rest would be tough. We will never win a Minority - Majority District, no matter what we do. Read Charlie Cook's ratings. Anytime a district is a D+9 or more, it's gone permanently. There are D+30 districts! Don't worry though. There are districts in Texas that are R+25!

As far as the Senate is concerned, there are only 5 to 8 in play, at the most. In a Presidential year, only 2 to 4 will really be in play.

3: Imagine (in your nightmares) an unfettered Obama and a complacent media, setting foreign policy, nominating judges (at least 3 to SCOTUS), appointing heads of departments, making speeches, etc. The Presidential influence is immense, with or without Congress. Just ask Israel.

If Obama really wants to destroy America, and many believe he does, as president, he doesn't need anyone’s permission.

All this speaks to my main point. The time to fight the Presidential battle is now, not in the general. Start campaigning for Conservatives, AT EVERY LEVEL.... NOW!

Get them nominated in the primaries... but don't make the mistake we made in the last election by nominating a few Tea Party wacko conservatives who had no change in the general election, over a less conservative, but electable Republican.

Remember, not voting for a Republican who is not Conservative enough for you is a great idea. Just ask any Dem.

I said the same thing just about two years ago: one could already sense the sneaky, subtle and surreptitious way the MSM had already begun bandying about the Romney name: he’s THEIR idea of who a Republican candidate should be, namely one who could probably get beat by Obama, or Hillary CLinton. And in the last week or so, a TOTAL non-entity named Huntsman has been pushed into the picture. All of this as though the Tea Party and its lessons had never happened.

Sorry, I cannot and will not help elect a Republican abortionist to the presidency. Guess some of you think I’m not serious. I am. Nominate an abortionist/homosexualist/statist “Republican” for the presidency and the Republican party has left me. I will actively campaign against him. Tea Party here I come!!

JR, As I said, our work starts NOW to get the right candidate nominated.

The right NOMINATED candidate solves all the problems.

BTW, who, among the current “possible” 1st, 2d ir 3d tier candidates could you support? Not looking for an official endorsement, but who fits the bill as a NON-abortionist/homosexual/statist? Who is in, who is out?

Have a great weekend.

I am a registered Republican for the sole purpose of being able to vote in the primaries, to try to influence them.

When it comes to the general election, however, that designation is meaningless.

However, I am not sitting home on election day. If need be, I will vote third party but I will not *not vote*.

Voting RINO won’t change anything but the speed of our slide into the abyss. We need someone who will stop it and reverse it. Another Ronald Reagan would be nice.

Agree. The establishment leftist Republicans are counting on people who will vote for them anyway. The mentality that that voting for the so-called “lesser of two evils” is better than voting for the other evil, is a big reason they keep pushing RINOs, and get away with it.

I say enough is enough.

So far I like Palin, Bachmann or Cain the most. I absolutely rule out Romney or Giuliani. Either of those two and I’m out. No way would I get excited about Gingrich. Perry? I don’t know. Paul? No way, Jose.

There used to be a bigger difference between the lesser of two evils.

Not so much any more.

Did you happen to catch the video link in post 1051 about the interview by Laura Ingraham?

There is hope for change (gag) as even some of obama’s former supporters are seeing him for who he is and spreading the message. The the people that this guy is going to reach are the ones who need to be reached and are most likely to listen as they are business owners.

Many minorities, blacks, hispanics, latinos etc actually oppose abortion, homosexuality. They are actually on our side on these moral issues. Yet they keeps voting identity politics first, it’s really sad.
