Nobody can doubt that we will be facing a nuclear Iran some time soon. George W. Bush was mercilessly mocked for launching a preemptive war against Saddam Hussein because Bush did not want to take the risk that Saddam might have WMD's.

Btw, is the above a joke or what ? Iran embarked on a nuke's program back in early 1990s under so called 'moderate & pragmatist', "we can do business with him", perceived by the West, Ayatollah Rafsanjani.

Saddam was a nobody. Iraq's major nuke site was bombed by Israel in the 1980s during Iran-Iraq war, which in turn helped the Mullahs' Iran. And after severe sanctions and no fly zone since the first gulf war, Iraq had nothing. Certainly no usable WMD. There are too many people like Saddam (not Islamist, but dictators) in the ME. But, Saddam & his regime were no way a dire threat to the West as the Mullahs' regime with their Islamic ideology & proxies have been for over 32 yrs.

"...Iran's ballistic missile program, with major North Korean help, may be able to reach the United States by 2015. ICBMs only require a flight time of about half an hour. ..."

More likely Iran will launch a nuke from a floating platform off our coast. Also, with a limited amount of fissile material it is likely they'd try to get the most bang for their buck and set off the nuke in the ionosphere so as to destroy the electronics across a wide swath of America (HEMP attack). A Hemp attack would have a far wider impact than the nuking of one American city.

Even my 15-year-old truck would be useless after a HEMP attack. Yours too, if it has electronic fuel injection or any of computer-controlled systems.

This is what I fear, and what I prep for. Mentally, I can adapt to an environment where the laser on my rifle does not work and I must shoot terrorists using iron sights.

I wish it were that easy. It would be a lot more desirable to have the dissident movement in Iran get some help from the US. But Hussein will be whatever Hussein is.

While there is legitimate concern and serious threat of an Iranian nuke, it's a long ways from 80lbs of fuel to an effective trigger and an effective delivery mechanism.

I was going to say the same thing. There is a long road from having the material to controlled fusion. Of course...they could already have the means in place and just need the core...don't know.

The rand corporation is an anti-American globalist think tank that gave us ‘homeland security’ and the TSA (which it is paid to develop programs for)

So now the anti-Americans are planning another war, that has been ‘years in the making’?

These people belong in prison.
