SNIPPET: "KEY PENINSULA, Wash. -- A man who was fatally shot by Tacoma police during a traffic stop early Wednesday morning pointed a gun loaded with armor-piercing bullets at the officer who stopped him and was carrying a large amount of ammunition in his truck, the Tacoma Police Department said.
Wednesday afternoon, the Medical Examiner's Office identified the man as Brooks Papineau of Gig Harbor."
SNIPPET: "When police searched Papineau's truck, they found a large amount of ammunition and additional ammunition magazines. They also said they found a Koran and several books on converting to Islam.
Police said Papineau went home sick from his job at the U.S. Postal Service at about 8 p.m. Tuesday."

Well, there is a question what constitutes a "large quantity of ammuninition"?
To some, even having a spare magazine or a 20 round box of pistol cartidges is a large quantity.Never mind the officers usually have a pistol magazine filled with 15 to 19 rounds and one or two spare magazines.
Now was this guy pro- or anti- muslim?
Was he studying to become muslim or reading about the threats of shariah law to non-muslims?
Sloppy, incomplete reporting is standard these days;actually digging out the facts might interfere with the journalists' leftist agendas.
That’s my highway pistol. It’ll also go through the various parts of a car as well, in case the bad guys are behind “cover.” (They thought.)
I’ll go out on a limb here and say that this guy was probably not a convert himself but had the displeasure of learning someone close to him did or was going to.
Obviously the ammo was there because that was his hobby.
According to the obituary, the man "passed away unexpectedly." Funny stuff!
Could be. Also, potentially, a FN 5.7.
There would be but for the Koran.
Korans are like kryptonite to cop-hater FReepers.
If I remember correctly, it was an AR (maybe AK) pistol variant chambered in 7.62 x 39 that caused the old Norinco steel core ammo ban.
All that needs to be said “ U.S. Postal Service “
That AP ammo is tough to snag even through official channels here....
The civy HP ammo is everywhere yet not the AP variant.
You a fan of the P90 an the 5n7 ?
Hope yer well Archy...
No, that will be the job of eric, my people, holder.
Yep remember you had such. I have one that I have been feeding .224 Boz loads... That is a neat sabot load using pulled green tip.
May ask why when OTC 7.62x25 is there already.....just cuz ...no other reason just cuz.

He!! this happend 5 miles down the road from my house. Wauna is a town of maybe 500 on a two lane road up in the hills, in the middle of the piney woods. The gas station in the background is where I gas up every week. The fact that he had firearms and ammo in his truck is not unusual in the area. Taking the gun with him when he exited the truck was his fatal mistake. Anyone getting out of a vehicle during a police stop, with a gun in hand, and moving in your direction should rightly be considered a lethal threat. Good reaction by the officer, bad and obviously suicidal move by the driver.
I think I remember Olympic Arms in it.
Yeah, like he had a sudden heart attack or something. Well maybe he DID, in a way;)
Ammo, sword found with man killed by Tacoma cop
So he was going to shoot them with his sword?
Or the other liberal statement, cop killer bullets. I really hate that statement. Bullets kill anyone if they hit the right place.
I don’t have the time or dinero to play the fun gun games you do.
My new motto is, “All my thrills are vicarious.”
That’s why I’m a novelist.
And a good one you are...
I figure your resting for a while but give me a shout when ya can regarding your next effort.
