Obama: Advanced manufacturing can boost jobs (Obama wants more "Lawn Mowing" Robots)

President Barack Obama says technological innovations such as robots can help pump jobs into the economy and spur growth in clean energy and advanced manufacturing.

In his radio and Internet address Saturday, the president echoed a plan he unveiled Friday in Pittsburgh to join the federal government, universities and corporations and re-ignite American manufacturing with an emphasis on cutting-edge research and new technologies.

"Their mission is to come up with a way to get ideas from the drawing board to the manufacturing floor to the marketplace as swiftly as possible, which will help create quality jobs, and make our businesses more competitive," Obama said in his address, which was taped Friday during his visit to Carnegie Mellon University, where he saw a display of mini-robots that explore water and sewer pipes.

He also marveled at robots that can defuse a bomb, mow a lawn, even scrape old paint.

With growing interest from the military, businesses and consumers, the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute has more than 500 technical experts and a $65 million annual budget.

He just said, days ago, that ATMS cost jobs. Does he even know what he is saying from day to day?

So you and your family decide to build a new house. You pick the lot, have a house designed andhave a contractor who begins working. But your teenage son wants to build a spaceship in the back yard. How about getting the fundamentals down first before reaching for the stars? Because he doesn’t have a clue about fundamentals and doesn’t care whether anyone else does either. This is what you get at the top when you hire someone with no practical experience with American culture and no clue about history beyond slavery or our fight against communism.

What a jerk. He got ridiculed for his idiotic remarks about ATMs so now he’s trying to take the opposite approach.

One of the problems with Obama is not only that he’s evil and wants to destroy our country, but that he’s STOOOPID.

Let us remember that to the simple mind of the Obamaloon, a wedge is an example of “advanced manufacturing”.

There are plenty of AAs out there more than capable of running the country.

Herman Cain is a good example.

I have robots to mow the lawn. We usually call them teenagers. Its probably one of the few times they are way from a tv or computer screen.

I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again. This is not policy as made in the “faculty lounge” as Rush Limbaugh is so fond of saying. This is policy made in the dorm room between bong hits. In my mind there is no other explanation.

Dude - you know what would be COOOOL? What if, like, we had a bunch of lawn mowing robots man, you know, that could mow the lawns and stuff? That would ROCK, man.

The best way for robots to improve the economy would be a
couple of properly programed “Terminators” turned loose in
Washington.
