Whatever happened to the NY State Conservative Party. Did it move left too? People in NY are roughly 80 percent leftist; so we can’t do much there, just win an occasional U.S. House seat and then have trouble holding onto it.

Conservatives by nature are law-abiding, common-sense, fulltime-job-working, individualist folk.

We don’t go for mob threats (what protesting really is), exhibitionism (see Lady Gaga and the rest of the pro-homosexual entertainers), or subverting the legal system with corrupt judges and behind the scenes legal deals. We play by the rules...because what good is it to win, if you cheat—and violate your principles—doing so?

If push comes to shove we will violate unjust/unrighteous laws (such as preferences for sexual perverts...i.e. homosexuals) and will resort to force....as an absolute last resort, if/when pushed too far.

I expect in my lifetime things will go too far—and conservatives will go about forming a new country (or immigrating to and taking control of an old country) as the USA is, I believe, pretty well finished...continuing the downhill slide started in the ‘60s and ‘70s.

The fascist left in this country is intent on forcing its will on us all...using “whatever means necessary.” Conservatives, by our ethical nature cannot use whatever means—as we know ends cannot justify means.

Too late for a radical-right “movement.” Only revolution will do the trick now. The Jackboot has been firmly planted on the throat of all Americans.

The reason these noisy minorities get what they want is that the issues they are advocating for (gay marriage, public schools) don’t seem that important to the taxpaying public, who just want to be left alone and doesn’t like confrontation. It doesn’t help that a lot of legislative business gets done behind closed doors in boring committee meetings, away from the eyes of the public.

Now that it’s plain that favored minorities like people in the public employee unions are trying to use government to steal what they can from the rest of the taxpaying public, taxpayers are pushing back through the Tea Party and ballot box. I can only hope that continues.

It's time for conservatives to face the truth: there is no conservative party in the United States.

Yes, there is.

Otherwise, great article.

There are so many things I disagree with in this article, I hardly know where to begin.

The comparison to Europe between the wars is ridiculous. Their “conservatives” were monarchists, wanting state-funded religion, no free speech, nothing even close to the 2nd Amendment, etc.. Surely that’s not what the author is advocating.

We have long been battling k-12 issues. We *aren’t* losing. *They* are on the defense, not us. Homeschooling is legal, even in Kalifornia. That is huge. Charter schools are popping up, even in places like New York, thanks to conservatives and libertarians. The fight for vouchers is going strong and it’s getting better.

*These* are our fights. It’s not about, “How can we take over the system so we can get our view across.” It’s about asking, “Do we really want the government doing this at all?” Even when not in power, we have been fighting and winning in the courts for things regarding 2nd Amendment rights, castle doctrine laws, education rights, etc.

We have been losing the economic battle because too many conservatives are top-down economic thinkers. You can’t control the economy.

We have been losing the “culture” war because we preach one thing and then watch Family Guy and Glee. Our kids see it and think it’s okay. The trouble is not because their teacher told them, but because of what we tell them by what we watch.

There is a “militant conservative movement.”

It’s called “The Real World.”

Stepping back and taking a historical view of this, we can see that the American Revolution was a reaction to a tyrannical suppression of the people’s natural rights, so the dynamic which the author speaks of has been in play since our country’s founding.

This is a problem as old as time itself, it seems. Normal people, i.e., conservatives, simply want to be left alone to flourish and prosper on their own. They’re not natively given to beating others over the head for the basic right to live and let live.

The Tea Party sprang up as a reaction to the excesses of Obama and his Marxist minions, and it will likely grow, strengthen, and become more active, until such time as the core threat to our American way of life is crushed to insignificance.

That said, once the threat is removed, conservatives, i.e., normal people, will most likely go right back to living as they always have.

This is exactly what Glenn Beck has in mind with GBTV

He is setting up an infrastructure that he hopes will replace the dinosaur media.

I joined for $100. If you're serious about changing things, here is somebody who has a plan.

It beats waiting for the other side to surrender.

“We are fighting three undeclared wars simultaneously with what are essentially mercenary soldiers because the left opposes conscription.”

Stepped over the line there, Sparky: even conscripted military members draw a salary. Doing pretty well till then...

"By failing to form a militant conservative movement, defend bourgeois values, and suppress leftist radicalism, the right has created a monster."

..."bourgeois?" How about defending a man's right to get his hands dirty. ...or continuing to default and reap the consequences? Your choice.

"During the 1920s and 1930s, communists and radical leftists sought to subvert Italy, Germany, and Spain, three of Europe's great nations, in the aftermath of World War I."

LOL! Free movie! ...public domain, no copyright issues. You'll enjoy it very much and be better informed!

Here is Germany (1945)

BTW, there's already an effective conservative movement. It's nonpolitical and much more effective. Prepare, become self-sufficient, and eventually stop the personal spending (keeps the socialists too fat and bossy). Encourage their spending, let them default, and prepare to get into leadership legally and honorably. When your opponent lunges, give his/her weight an extra push in his/her chosen direction. Then control the rest of the fight.

Militant leftists have the full support of the Democrat Party, not to mention the FEDGOV, Wall St., the Corporate Media, Foundations, Trusts, the entire education system, etc. Conservatives, on the other hand, are sabotaged and restrained by the GOP at every turn and the only right wing groups that are funded by Big Money are of the Quisling variety.

BTW, most of the middle class and many of the wealthy are supporting by debt, waste and bureaucratic oppositions against real production.

Outstanding article. This is the most concise analysis I’ve seen. My blood is boiling. Those whom we’ve entrusted to ‘hold the line’ a.k.a. republicans are traitors as much as those in this administration. They’ve contributed to the current situation as much as the democrat/communists. It is appalling and as this author indicates, it’s time for conservatives to become militant. It’s becoming worse by the day; by the hour as they plot and plan their next takeover. And the deviant, depraved, corrupted Republicans are more than happy to assist; that is as long as ‘their world’ doesn’t get rocked. In the meantime, those of us in the citizenry must pay for every damn thing that is being done and our response seems to be: whip me, beat me (some more) and make me write bad checks.

Time to go Galt? Hell no, it’s time to go Postal.

This is an awesome article and it speaks the truth.

When the "trains would no longer run on time," conservatives were no alternative.

In my genealogy research I obtained a letter from my great-grandmother's brother in Germany to her (in the U.S.) in the late 1930's. Their sister had been a nanny to the last Emperor's family before WWI, and he was a prominent physician.

In the letter the elderly doctor feebly laments the failure of the conservatives in the Weimar Republic and says their ways had failed, and that they just had to go ahead and try the new ways and accept the new thinking of the next generation, sheepishly mentioning how he and his son were having to join the Nazi Party, SS, and other Nazi organizations now to remain relevant and respectable in their work.

I look at his letter and look at the Establishment wing of the Republican party and see too much alike. They wouldn't know real conservatism if it bit them, but they are convinced it has failed. They are blind to the social apocalypse they are ushering in as an alternative.
