I'd rather be in league with Mark Levin and Sean Hannity who, like me, believe that, though she may have done it, the prosecution didn't meet their burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

Thank God for the Constitution.

If a guilty murderer went free, I hardly think that’s cause for celebration.

And in my opinion, there was plenty of damning evidence presented. Just like in the O.J. case.

I’d rather a jury of dullards and people of with questionable pasts not be seated.

Let’s hear it for her Jerry Springer Jury!

So which made the media more upset:
Casey Anthony's acquittal
OR
Hussein's failure to bring the Olympics to Chicago.

IMAGINE the WEEPING there will be in NEWSROOMS all across the USA on Election Night, 2012!~

I believe this was a sympathy verdict and it had nothing to do w/ Caylee or Casey and everything to do w/ the grand-parents. Caylee, their little grand-daughter is dead and gone and the jury empathized w/ the grand-parents and didn’t want to take the daughter away from them as well. Just my thoughts.

The meaning of reasonable changed in the last 30 or so years.

Nah, she just drove around with her little girls dead body (with duct tape over her nose and mouth) in her car.

It may have been a loss for that poor baby, but it was a win for the Constitution where the state has to prove your guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Yeah, not reporting your missing two-year-old for a month while you lie to the police about her, and party, until she is found dead, buried and wrapped in duct tape, doesn't come near the minimum requirements for negligence, let alone, at the very least, negligent manslaughter.

Oh and by the way - don't make the mistake of leaving your child in your car while you go into a store. Even if you remember them and run back out in 60 seconds, you'll be charged with negligence and have them taken away from you, and if they die from heat, you'll be convicted of negligent manslaughter.

Now what were we talking about? Oh yes, the burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

She murdered a little girl and got away with it. No reasonable doubt in my mind. It makes me sick.

I was on a jury recently where a thug was charged with battery and vandalism (over some dollar amount that I do not recall at the moment).

He essentially admitted to the battery. For the vandalism, the prosecutor never established that the damage didn’t happen prior. I kept expecting him to bring in a witness or a dated photo, but he never did it. So, the thug walked on the vandalism.

I thought I would be the odd ball and have to argue the point. We were unanimous on both accounts within 5 minutes.

Afterward, we all chatted and agreed that what we “knew” and what the prosecution proved were two different things.

I have no problem making the prosecution prove their case.

Tune in to Mark Levin right now. He is laying out the CONSTITUTIONAL rationale for the verdict.

I have to admit from what I have heard the case was not proven, either.

That doesn’t mean it’s not possible she did it. I may even “feel” like she did. But if you can’t prove it, you can’t be putting people in prison for life. We can’t imprison people based on our hunches and feelings.

God knows what happened to that child. He will ultimately make it right.

Aside from the reasonable doubt issue, simply put, Casey Anthony aborted her two year old.

Yeah well Tim Miller of Texas Equisearch just gave a locl interview. He said he was in that house for 4 days. Casey NEVER even mentioned Caylee. He had a map at the table of the areas they planned to search. george and Cindy stood up took the map and went to Casey’s room. george said ok here is a map. put a mark where Caylee is so we can go get her.
The monster just started screaming at her parents.

Why do you think they got up and walked up and walked out of the court room when the Jury said not guilty.

Your claims that the system worked are dead wrong. The system is suppose to seek truth and Justice. NEITHER were achieved in this verdict.

I don’t know how much more proof would be necessary. I find this decision unbelievable.

This one of those troubling cases where the police and prosecutors may be convinced that the suspect - in this case, Casey Anthony - was guilty of murdering her toddler, Caylee, but can't find enough evidence to prove it. They often decide to not prosecute such cases. This time, they did prosecute and by doing so, took a gamble that they ultimately lost. This is the way it's supposed to work. The law and the justice system protect the average citizen, even when the citizen is a sleazeball or, like Casey Anthony, an unsympathetic, self-obsessed, immature 'party girl' who very likely murdered her two-year-old child because the child was an impediment to her chosen lifestyle. The prosecution proved Casey Anthony was despicable, that her child died under mysterious circumstances and that Casey's actions (not reporting the disappearance of Caylee, lying incessantly) were extremely suspicious. However, they didn't prove Casey murdered little Caylee. That is the crux of the case. So, Casey will be freed to pick up her sordid lifestyle (sans child) and we'll all grumble about the vagaries of the U.S. criminal justice system but frankly, although I don't particularly like the jury's verdict, I understand why they arrived at it and had I been a juror on this trial, I probably would have voted to acquit Casey Anthony.
