After the allegations came out, while Weiner was on the 24H news cycle, outted as a total creep, while even his own party was demanding that he resign, his constituents overwhelmingly CONTINUED to back him and opposed his resignation. They are drones who will pull the "D" lever no matter what.
Sheer fantasy
And yes, he's just as big an idiot as this article portrays.
The propaganda for the special election has already started. Columnist Richard Cohen claimed Weiner is a victim of high-tech lynching-—and is attempting to transform Weiner into a victim-—the abused, innocent recipient of scurrilous Internet backlash.
Cohen claimed no crime was committed that his beloved Democratic Party should have retained the showboating loud-mouthed Weiner in Congress.
Of course, Cohen does not factor in character, aptitude and helping the nation succeed as prerequisites for a member of Congress.
Cohen’s article also backhandedly called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a hero for putting party first to get Weiner to leave, as if some unwritten Dem blood code was violated.
Dem loyalty——like they’re gangland members-—is more important.
Cohen further believes that, like Bill Clinton, Weiner had his privacy invaded. Like the self-absorbed Weiner needed a memo that when you send photos of yourself holding your penis you might be exposed.
Cohen would not make these comments if it involved Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, or George W. Bush.
Like con artists, the Dem party has two sets of books- Fairness for Us but not for you.

44.00 short ribs for us....Alpo for you ;-)
BTW, for all the Californians expressing negativity on this thread, this is not Los Angeles.
Yes, Turner is a distinct underdog, but the idea that you shouldn't support him because of that is absurd-it's the same mentality that's guiding the party apparatus, which is doing virtually nothing in this race.
I've already anted up 25 bucks because I hate everything Schumer-Weiner-Weprin represents, and the chance of dislodging this virus-even if only temporarily-is enough to garner my support.
I wish more Republicans in the City cared about changing it in a positive direction as they do about kvetching about how stupid its polity is.
But, they are the stone-cold, hard-nosed, ultra-liberals. There will be some who are turned off by this whole debacle and not vote. Also, this is a “Special Election”. Not a whole lot of Dems are motivated to get out and vote in a special election. The Conservatives on the other hand, will crawl over broken glass to get to the polling place for this one.
Yeah; it worked for him. But, this time, Former Mayor Ed Koch, a highly respected JEWISH politician is encouraging people to vote for the GOP cadidate. And, this election is more high-profile than an assembly seat election. It will be more difficult to for him to “smut” himself to victory.
BTTT.
