Perry Surges to Second Place in Two National Polls
Real Clear Politics ^ | July 22, 2011 | Caitlin Huey-Burns

Posted on 07/22/2011 3:04:27 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

With speculation mounting as to whether Rick Perry will make a White House run, two national polls released Friday morning show the Texas governor within close reach of front-runner Mitt Romney.

The Massachusetts governor edges Perry by 16 percent to 14 percent, in a CNN/ORC International survey and by 17 percent to 14 percent in a Fox News poll. The CNN survey shows an increased enthusiasm for a Perry presidential bid. In May, only 40 percent of Republican respondents wanted him to jump into the candidate pool, a number that's now risen to 50 percent. Fifty-five percent want former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to run and 54 percent want former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani to enter the race, but Perry has higher net support (the difference between those who want him to run and those who don't) for the GOP nod.

[snip]

The CNN/ORC International poll surveyed 455 Republicans and Republican-leaning independents July 18-20 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points. The Fox News survey was conducted jointly by Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R) July 18-19. It polled 904 registered voters with a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points.

OK, that’s .... everybody except “Generic Republican”.

Yea, let's just ignore all the polls saying any generic GOP Presidential Candidate can beat Obama, .... SoConPubbie

A (not "ANY" ..... "A" .... ) "generic Republican" can beat Obama just as long as the GOP is not downright stupid about it.

The American voters are still open minded about a possible GOP candidate but you, SoConPubbie, are expecting them to be open minded to the point that their brains fall out.

Will ANY Republican beat Obama?

No.

Will a Republican that is a former pizza chain CEO and has never won an election in his life (Cain) beat Obama?

No. It would be another Alan Keyes bloodbath.

Will a Republican that 72% of ALL voters in a Feberuary FOX News poll said that they believed would NOT be a good President (Palin) beat Obama?

No. It would be another Joe Miller bloodbath. (Who, despite Sarah Palin's support and the GOP nomination, lost Palin's home State U.S. Senate seat to a WRITE-IN candidate with a hard to spell name.)

Will a Republican that has ZERO executive experience in either the private sector or the public sector and is on video tape claimimg that is is her religious duty to God to be "submissive" to a lisping husband when he tells her to do something (even if she does not want to do it) be entrusted with the Nuclear Button?

No. It would be another Christine O'Donnell bloodbath.

==================

Bachmann:(At 1:25) Michele Bachmann tells a megachurch audience that she did what Marcus Bacmann told her to do, regarding her post graduate education, even though she did not want to do it, because she says it is her religious duty to be "submissive" to Marcus Bachmann

Same tired old crap, huh?

If Rick Perry puts a size 12 Texas boot up Obama's ass and kicks him back to Maui, then Rick Perry can spray Guardasil from cropdusters over the Rio Grande as far as I'm concerned!

I submit you are wrong. Forget the stupid pollsters. Just about anyone picked to run for the GOP can and will beat Obama. So, it may as well be a pure conservative. I started looking into Perry and realized he isn’t so pure. The man endorse Rudy in 2008.....that shows a clear lack of judgement. I was open towards him running before, but I wished he would stay out now. More and more I’m leaning towards Bachmann, Palin, or Santorum. I want an unwaivering social conservative this is also a fiscal conservative.

The RINO Perry has NO CHANCE...Fox News poll found the president tops Perry, 47 percent to 37 percent.”

He already within five of Obama in this week's Rasmussen poll despite the fact the Gallup poll indicates 45% of the country doesn't know who he is.

But, if the Fox News poll matters with Perry, why doesn't it matter when it shows Palin 21 points behind Obama?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1883116/posts
Perry’s push for the Trans-Texas Corridor super highway is part of a secret plan, the conspiracy theorists say,
to create the North American Union — a single nation consisting of Canada, Mexico and the United States with a currency called the Amero.
Perry enhanced the conspiracy buzz earlier this summer by traveling to Turkey to attend the secretive Bilderberg conference, which conspiracy
theorists believe is a cabal of international monied interests and power brokers pressing for globalization.
Republican presidential candidate and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Lake Jackson was asked about the trip on the syndicated talk radio show
of Alex Jones in June. Paul said the trip was “a sign that he’s involved in the international conspiracy.”
