Vanity: Have We Reached the Point of No Return in Politics?
August 1, 2011 | Self

Posted on 08/01/2011 11:01:55 AM PDT by Raycpa

I have always thought that the direction our country would be set by people yielding to practical solutions that work. The left has always wanted us to be socialists but at least willing to push for changes that did little or no damage to our countries economy or its military status. The right has been patient with the left. Like a parent trying to discipline a child, the right has restrained itself and just like a parent has given in too much and given too little discipline.

However, I sense that we have reached a point of no return. The left doesn't care anymore if they destroy the country. They do not think our current country is worth saving. The goal of having their utopia created by government outweighs their rational thinking about the consequences.

The right has given up expecting their wayward child to change. They have metaphorically packed their kids bags and have disowned them. The right no longer wants anything to do with the left, even to the point that cooperation is reasonable. The right no longer wants to compromise because every past effort to compromise has ended with the left pushing just a little farther and no progress is being made for them to see they are wrong.

So, we are at a point that seems to me to be unbridgeable. We have two countries. Two countries sharing the same geography, government, businesses, social and religious structures. Two countries with two fundamentally opposed world views are not sustainable.

That was to me, but, I think there is still a chance. ONLY IF WE SEND REINFORCEMENTS NEXT YEAR. If that fails, then, put a pitchfork in it. Stock up on tar and feathers.

CWII is around the corner...

'Fraid so, I think there will be a point where we will have to fight. The trouble is that the geographical lines are more blurry now than they were in 1861. The bade thing is that there will be a lot of hurt on both sides and if we are lucky, we will win and perhaps give a few states to the libs and cut them loose and we keep the lion's share of the country. Either that or we deport them to a country of their choice upon victory. I know in the past, I always favored the Confederacy but Abraham Lincoln is correct on this where he said, "a house divided cannot stand."

I know I'm fed up and at the end of my rope too seeing all of these shenanigans and getting tired of having my country stolen from me and us.

I view the Norwegian and Arizona shootings in a different light. Yes what the perps did was wrong and they were nuts but overall, they are also like canaries in a coal mine, like the first indicator that something is very, very wrong. Because they may not have the good grounding in their lives, something just snapped and there rest as they say, is history. What if thinks get worse and you have otherwise sane people who end up having their backs against the wall and sense there is nothing to lose. That's when all Hell will break loose.

We need to find a way to defuse this but I don't know how nor do I see it happening.

Ping to the CWII list.

“I just need 45 minutes to go grab my gear and to put the word out.”

In 1776 they only needed 1 minute.

Pose this question - What would happen if the Govt. somehow started addressing the debt/spending problem in a necessary but reasonable way ? Say, the Rand/Bond 'cut a penny of every dollar' approach--maybe some tax cuts to spur growth and substantial reductions in govt red tape, regulations and restrictions, and elimination of some of the more wasteful and burdensome bureaucracies

What would be the response? I think it would be massive upheaval, social chaos, and a determined effort from the political class to forcibly remove the responsible person from office-to say nothing of destroying that person individually.

So I think your answer is most probably, Yes.

Is the Right the many politicians in our Government who call themselves Republicans? Or, is the Right most Tea Party (supporting) Conservatives?

I always feel like we have the Left, who comprise almost all Democrats. Then we have Republicans, who claim to be representing the Right publicly, yet seem to support (secretively) much of the ideology of the Left. Then of course, there’s the majority of people in this Country who consider themselves Conservatives.

Your question of “Have we reached the point of no return in politics(?)”, I would answer no. I think we can take our Country back, if the current Parties don’t cause it’s collapse first.

One side wants the burn the house down, the other wants to save it. Not much room for compromise IMO.

Send all the libs to Manhattan. The can build all their choo-choo trains and urban planning crap there. Wall it off and be done with it. FDR did it with the Japs, we can do it with the libs. I’ve had it “up to here” with this crap.

In my opinion we have and it happened on Election Day in 2008. That was when it was demonstrated that there were more parasites than producers.

I'm 46 miles from home. I have a "Get Home" bag in my car. Everything else is grab-n-go.

It took the Alarm Riders more than one minute to get the word out.

A quote from Adams comes to mind:
But what do we mean by the American Revolution? Do we mean the American war? The Revolution was effected before the war commenced. The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations...This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution.

John Adams, letter to H. Niles, February 13, 1818

Adams, saying the same thing differently elsewhere identifies the "revolution" as having occured between 1760-1775 in the minds of the people, long before "Lexington and Concord".

Revolutions that do not have that foundation laid are nothing but choas and upheavel making the way for opportunists.

In part, this is why the noisy Tea Party was and is so effective and the Weathermen were not.

Every state has the power to secede from the USA. They just don’t realize it yet, but THAT is the answer to 150 years of the Lincoln Curse.

How to divide literally the states that are conservative from the liberal ones? All great nations have fallen, the prediction on the life span of democracy is about 225-250 years. I know we are a Republic ... only we allow Democracy to coexist, bad move.
Our Constitution is being changed by liberal rulings of liberal judges, etc.

Then there is the perfect president to do their bidding and the perfect timing it would seem.

God is not pleased with our immoral ways of living, Abortion, homosexuality, wicked ways turning from God, and corruption of our leaders. None of us want to believe it ... BUT ... it is right before our eyes. We call it political correctness, move away from our Godly faith, social justice and dozens of other words that are all in the direction of socialism, Communism, and Marxist ideas. Bit by bit our school system has stopped teaching history, geography, science, math, health, and moved to social sciences, mother earth, global warming etc. Our children as well as many of us are brainwashed and we do not accept the truth of it.

God help us in our day, we seek the LORD, in Jesus name, amen.
