Democrats view Rick Perry as vulnerable and are gearing up to take him on
Boston Herald ^ | August 7, 2011 | Todd J. Gillman The Dallas Morning News

WASHINGTON — As Rick Perry gears up for a presidential bid, Democrats also are making preparations — dusting off years of opposition research, sharpening attack points, designing anti-Perry websites and, for the most part, awaiting his entry with more eagerness than anxiety.

They’re not trying to tip the GOP primary. But in seeking to tar Perry as a flawed extremist, they want to ensure that as voters beyond Texas get to know him, he won’t be able to shake that image later.

"He has a pretty poor record as governor of Texas on a lot of measures — on wage growth, on job growth, on health care," said Bill Burton, head of a new pro-Obama political action committee, Priorities USA, and until recently the deputy White House press secretary.

.....Texas Democrats will offer a one-stop shop to expose what they see as Perry’s warts, gaffes and failures. They’ve created a website (www.meetrickperry.com) devoted to that cause. It’s fundraising tool for now, but it will go live when and if Perry jumps into the race, perhaps this month.

"We’ll do everything we can to introduce him to the American public," Richie said. "We have been working diligently to put material together."

It seems to me that the Democrats don’t hold a candle to some here on FR in trying to destroy Perry. The so called conservatives eat their own rather well in destroying any credibility candidates may have with those who would have voted for our side.

Trivia: Who was Al Gore's Texas Campaign Chairman in 1988? Answer: Rick Perry

Yes you are correct. And Michael Dukakus won that Democratic Party primary. What is your point?

Whispers from Austin say that there are some folks in town making inquiries in to Perry's sexuality. He better be prepared for that. It is coming.

Seriously?? Perry has more testosterone in his pinky than Obama has in his entire body. That is what the Democrats are scared of with Perry. People have seen that Obama is a weak, wimpy metrosexual.

And you seem to take such delight in bringing it up over and over again. Tell ya what. Why don’t you post the dirt, if you know about it. Or shut up about it?

Just posting to you makes one want a good shower with lots of soap.

Or like this spam e-mail going around attacking Perry for being 33rd in the nation on teacher pay.

Did they mention that Texas teachers don't pay state income tax?

I bet not!

I hear wispers that you are a faggot....normally folks who constantly accuse others are actually attempting to deflect attention to their own shortcomings. Are you a faggot....come clean...it will only hurt for a little while....just think of the tremendous burden of guilt that will be lifted from your shoulders if you come out of the closet!

He’s standing against the EPA’s assault on Texas

When elected president he will neuter the EPA. Break its stranglehold on drilling and jobs. Perry has to appoint people to his cabinet who will force their agencies in a conservative direction no matter what the leftist Gov't drones who work there think. Fire them if they won't carry out orders from above.

Your passion for your guy does you credit, but, honestly, the ads with Perry morphing into Bush, with the “remember what happened the LAST time we elected the Governor of Texas?” ads write themselves.

Obama is DYING to run against Bush. A Perry nomination hands him that chance on a silver platter.

Doubleplusungood.
