The fact is, under the Obama administration, the DOT is planning to call for Farmers who operate major farm equipment (trucks, tractors, large harvesters, etc.) to have to get a Commercial License (CDL) in order to operate the machinery on their own property and then fill out all the logs and adhere to all of the schedules like a commercial truck driver or face fines and loss of license.

it will kill the small farmers all over America...and they will have a fight on their hands should they actually try and implement such a travesty.

Obama can talk all he wants but at the end of the day it is Obama who has increased government regulations whereever he can.

I think USDA is like the Secret Police, compared to EPA, who are more like brownshirts.

I first heard of USDA/SCS back in the early '90s when I tried to sell someone there a piece of software. What he told me about his operation should have been frightening to me.

It is not "believing what you hear" that is the problem. Farmers right now today are overburdened with paperwork filling out forms and permits; that is, the problem is over regulation for farmers. Our President is really out of touch; his BIG government is the problem.

DOT has backed off on that regulatory proposal for equipment operators to have a CDL to move down the road. It was just late last week it came out...

I assume that will mean things like 10 hour limits, no licenses for 14 year olds, huge increases in licensing fees, etc. I do not see how this legislation benefits anyone except the larger farm operations (eliminate competition), and whatever tax-collecting entity will get all the additional fees.

Dunham’s standard response to everything is a variation of
“you are too stupid to understand the issue at hand”
