Funny, I was just thinking about that old fool earlier today.
Pretending to know is futile, but if God wanted, one can assume that the obscure crack is inefficient.
I agree.
These are two different things I think. A sign from God is one thing and a symbol is another. We add a layer of meaning to life if we are able to look at the events around us and see them on a symbolic level. This does not need any supernatural intervention or explanation, just an ability to relate to the symbols that surround us.
Not bizarre, and "everything else" was not left unscathed. Many building suffered structural damage. There may not have been too many complete building failures (though a few did partially fall), but there are lots of chimney's down, concrete stairwells and sidewalks full of cracks, and other assorted damage in a fairly wide area around DC.
I think that huge crack in Robertson’s skull is a sign from the lord.
My dad thought maybe God wanted him to have hemorrhoids. That made my mother quite upset. “God doesn’t want you to have hemorrhoids” she yelled at him.
That’s Mormon rock-lickin’ talk.
Jesus didn’t advocate machine guns.
David killed Goliath...
WE can’t fix anything. It will play out as it is supposed to play out. We are but observers who can do no more than love our neighbors as ourselves.
The University of Maryland Library had 27,000 books knocked from shelves on its upper floors, and had several shelves collapse completely.
A couple of apartment buildings were condemned in Southern PG county.
Explain how he does it, and how it can be differentiated from naturally occurring events.
Isn’t the Washington Cathedral Episcopalian? Compared to the Washington Monument, I’d have expected the Cathedral to implode, given that the Episcopals have removed their candlestick and voluntarily handed it to the Lord.
God acts through physics alright. But I believe He essentially lets the processes play out.
Pat Robertson is not alone in sensing a sign from God in the quake damage. There is a Catholic Caucus thread on FR regarding the very same thing. It seems that, in addition to th Washington Monument and the National Cathedral, the right arm of the statue of Jesus on the cross in St. Marys Church was also broken off in the quake.
Just make cerain you’re not just using Pat Robertson as a proxy for a more overarching disdain for southern evangelicals. Seems to be going around these days.
If it weren’t for the caucus designation, I’d ping the participants on that thread to defend Pat Robertson. Oh, wait, who am I kidding, lol? Never happen.
So if Hurricane Irene results in loss of life or property is it because Pat Robertson isn't praying about it?

What the heck was that???
"God...does warn us" Explain how he does it, and how it can be differentiated from naturally occurring events.
To me this is on the same level as the people who are saying that the earthquake was caused by fracking. But they won’t get reported in the press, this guy will.
Insurance companies agree with Pat... “an act of God”...
