There are plenty of great, Christian Americans.
I live in the midwest and we expect New Madrid to mess us up any time now. If it happens, it won’t be because I was unChristian ... it will be because there are things happening under the Earth that cause tectonic plates to do things.
Pat Robertson is being an idiot and a fool. He pretends to know the ways of God and no one can do that.
They may be praying, but there comes a time when we have to act upon our prayers. Christians are still the silent majority.
If we would rise up with one voice do you think there would be abortions, civil unions, crooked politics and the like?

And this is a big part of the point of anyone using something to say, “God’s judgment!”
The guys who are devoutly NOT Christians are probably also say, “Look at what Allah did!”
And THEY are just as stupid.
God doesn’t always start out with the BIG wake-up call.
If He always came down as hard as He could the first time, there’d be a lot less people to potentially change their ways. They’d be dead, and more people would probably harden their hearts and say “Why are you so mean and vengeful?”
AS with everything, there are reasons as to why things happen, they do not happen randomly or on their own. God is in control of the entire universe. He keeps Satan in check and Satan cannot do anything outside of God’s permission.
Earthquakes, tsunamis, and the like definitely have God as their cause. Jesus said that there would be “earthquakes in diverse places” as one of the indicators of the end approaching.
What Jesus DIDN’T say that the signs were in any way a judgement. There was no indication that people needed to start living right or signs would happen.
Pat is right that America has increasingly turned away from God. He is also right that God is behind these natural disasters. PR is wrong to link these two facts though.
You know as well as I that many people profess to be Christians but in their Sloth could care less about Truth. And all I mean by machine gun nests is Jesus said there is only one way to fix this. It isn’t going to be pretty.
Sure, I make a lot of jokes. And sure, sometimes I’m just plain mean.
But don’t let that fool ya. The Christ talks to me every day in the life of every living thing. Sometimes He just WON”T SHUT UP. ;-))
