Jury unable to reach verdict in killing of gay student Larry King

A jury has been unable to reach a verdict in the murder trial of Brandon McInerney, the 17-year-old accused of shooting a gay classmate to death in 2008.

The jury began deliberating Friday, weighing eight weeks of testimony in a trial that included nearly 100 witnesses. Many of those testifying were students and teachers at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard who saw tensions on campus rising after 15-year-old Larry King began coming to school dressed in makeup and girl's boots.

McInerney, then 14, shot King twice in the back of the head in a school computer lab on Feb. 12, 2008. The prosecution says it was a calculated murder carried out in part because McInerney was exploring white supremacist ideology and didn't like homosexuals.

Defense attorneys painted a different picture, that of a bright but abused 14-year-old who snapped after being sexually harassed by King.

The trial was followed closely by gay-rights groups that have fought hard to protect gay and transgendered students from campus bullying. But as the weeks of testimony rolled on and a more nuanced portrait emerged of what was happening at E.O. Green in the weeks before the shooting, it also raised a host of thorny questions.

No, what they want is a free ticket to sexually harass their fellow students without repurcussions.

Ideally, progress calls for sexually dominant perverts to diddle boys and men without consequence. US prisons provide a sneak peek at the glorious future of sexual freedom.

No man, woman nor child should be in a workplace or school where they are sexually humilated, threatened or harassed. Today sex education is the activist’s comprehensive adult sexual grooming of children for participation in adult sex and porn.

Take adult sex out of the public schools because today’s amoral adults have proven they can not be trusted to sexually interact with children. Sex activists in public schools are serving themselves not children.

Where were the adults in this? Why was the boy allowed to dress like a girl and be sexually provocative?

Good questions. Imho, the adults involved should be made to answer them, and to answer for them.

Now that’s funny.
Probably an accidental suspender strangulation. Those can snap at any time...

“Sex activists in public schools are serving themselves not children.”

And that’s what it boils down to in the end.
And they’ll wave this kids bloody shirt around and use it as a rally point for their ‘cause’ which in the end will hurt more children.
But they’ll see it as progress.

Some of them are the same clowns who want to normalize pedophilia.

Well, the schools should be run by people who will fight for right, not just cower in fear!

Should the homeowner who defends himself and family be punished as much ,or even more severely than the home invader?IThe British government has said so;but I will NEVER accept that as right and proper.

The 14 year old shooter seems to have been placed in an intolerable situation;once there were kids who actually looked forward to being in school as a safe respite from home violence. When there is no safe time or place the tensions will build until something drastic is the result.

I didn't say anything of the sort. But you seem to go out of the way in trying to say what the kid did was self-defense.

The shooter was only 14 years old, and was abused by his father. He can't escape harassment at school by this sick classmate, either. No adult helps him and he's only 14 years old! The classmate wasn't "flirting" if his attention wasn't wanted and he knew it was unwelcome.

By the way, I've been physically bullied, thrown into lockers, robbed and sexually harassed in the locker room. You think having some guy come up to you and flirt with you when you're clearly not interested is anywhere remotely as bad as that? I would have taken that any day of the week if it meant I wasn't going home in pain, humiliated and about to cry. I finally decided enough was enough and got out of public school.

Don’t know as he’d notice.
Oxygen hasn’t been getting out of those lungs to anything useful in years.
I think the suspenders are actually there to keep him from levitating out of his drawers.
He’s some kind of revenant, right?

Did you realize that when you wrote "One was apparently beating his 14 year old son and leaving guns where he had easy access to them." you slandered a man whose death before the the trial prevented him from defending himself?

Please what do you have against guns? When and where I grew up most 14 year olds had ready access to 22's, and hunting bows, spring traps, axes, machetes and knives.

Defending himself from his own son's defense team? The one that said he beat him?

What do I have against guns? Wow are you delusional.

I don't think mentally disturbed physically abused 14 year olds should have easy and unrestricted access to them. Do you disagree?

I had access to numerous firearms at 14. But then again I wasn't beaten by my father, nor was I likely to bring them to school to cowardly shoot from behind a kid who “teased” me.

Allowing open sexuality in front of the hormonally agitated adolescent is a deadly-at-times form of bullying. The ADULTS in this school are uncomfortable and deficient with their self and their professional ability, and so they resort to encouraging a dissolutive school environment that keeps the kids as confused animals so that the adults-by-age can feel powerful.

WHO determines which person is mentally disturbed? In two years should that theoretically “disturbed” boy of 16 have unrestricted access to a car? What about to matches — I mean matches can be used to commit arson. I would imagine you’d be terrified of allowing people unrestricted access to matches. Or sharp objects like scissors. Or ropes, if someone imagines a lynching it could happen, right, Mr. AllMenAreDeadlyDangers?

You excuse your own easy repeating of slander quite readily. To me, that’s scary. Words can kill.

Bullets most often miss their targets and the magazine only only holds a few rounds. But malevolent words never miss, and the ammo is unending.

It was a double killing. A killing and a suicide. The suicide is just a continuing one, the system, however, is striving to complete it. The jurors tried to stop it.

I think it safe to say that the guy who brings a gun to school to cowardly kill from behind a kid because that kid said things he didn't like, is mentally disturbed.

You seem pretty mentally disturbed to me also.

If you were my kid I would keep you away from firearms in unsupervised situations.

But maybe if the guy's defense team slanders his dead father some more - “I was abused!” more conservatives will adopt the liberal meme that the abused can do no wrong.

Killed your husband with a shotgun while he slept? No problem - just claim he abused you.

Killed your parents with a shotgun while they were eating ice cream? No problem - they abused you!

The abuse excuse is a crock of feces.

So is the “bullying”.

The guy committed cold blooded murder.

But maybe you don't believe in personal responsibility.

Don't do the crime if you cannot do the time.

“The prosecution says it was a calculated murder carried out in part because McInerney was exploring white supremacist ideology and didn’t like homosexuals.”

You know what? I can’t blame the kid for “exploring white supremacist ideology” after he is being sexual harassed by an aggressive homo and the teachers and parents won’t do a damn thing about it. The authority figures failed him, so he turned to trashy riff-raff that offered him a sense of self-empowerment and a way to reassert his masculinity. In a deluded and counterproductive way, to be sure, but I can see why the kid would get disillusioned and drift towards a crowd like that.

I don’t want to sound like I’m excusing murder, but I also can see how he might have, in desperation, not seen any other options. Having been a teenage boy myself, I can imagine how humiliating it must have been to get harassed day in and day out by a flaming homo, in high school, in front of GIRLS and not be able to do anything about it. Teenagers aren’t the best at finding rational solutions to difficult problems like that; they are more likely to lash out and do something foolish. The homo was poking a sleeping bear, and he got mauled.
