idunno about irrelevant. pretty destructive. I wouldn't call a nuclear bomb "irrelevant."
He's an irrelevant person, of course, but his presidency...? "You dropped a bomb on me, baby..."

OK, I didn’t watch his historic campaign speech. Were the Republican members of Congress openly laughing at him? Because if they were, it was an utterly brilliant move. 0bama’s ego is so big, and he thought he was being so serious, that being openly laughed at in that setting had to just burn him up and must be eating at him today. Which is fine by me.

Presidential addresses to Congress are often dramatic moments. This one felt like a sideshow. Usually, the press gallery is standing-room-only; this time, only 26 of 90 seats were claimed by the deadline. Usually, some members arrive in the chamber hours early to score a center-aisle seat; 90 minutes before Thursdays speech, only one Democrat was so situated. This column is full of great vignettes! I'm not too familiar with Dana Milbank's ouvre. Was he calling Obama a god a few years back?

I heard Mark Steyn read this on Rush’s show this morning. I laughed until I cried. If all this is true, as Millbank reports it, we are truly witnessing a sea change.

Conservatives are known for their senses of humor.
On the way to the store today, I tuned in Rush and Mark Steyn is subbing. Some guy named Rene called in to be REALLY upset (in a very slow, kinda retarded monotone) about how Steyn was making fun of the president and his “Pass this plan now” rhetoric. Rene assured Steyn that since Obama is president ... Rene was SURE he could scrape the money together to pay for the bill.
I both laughed ... and was sad for our future, because there are a lot of Renes out there.

Dana Milbank: "Obama has become too weak to enact
anything big enough to do much good."
This is how these brain-dead liberals think. If only Obama was allowed to spend ANOTHER $1 trillion dollars of pork spending, or better yet perhaps $2 trillion, then everything would be right with the world again.
And if we just taxed mean ole' Mr. Potter, uh I mean Warren Buffett, as much as his secretary, trillions of dollars of tax revenues would pour into the federal government like a mighty river of righteousness!

This IS the magical jump the shark moment. For those old enough to remember, this is Obama’s equivalent of Jimmah’s malaise speech.
What I remember best is the way the lib media savagely turned on the “Gentleman from Plains.”
It’s all downhill for the Messiah from here. Gunwalker and Solyndra will be occupying him henceforward.

Was this his stupidest speach yet?
Did he think “Pass this right away” was going to be some major catch phrase or something?
When he used that phrase [”right away”] the first time I thought he sounded foolish- The more presidential word(s) to use would have been “pass this immediately”
But he said it over and over and over... it sounded just so.... STUPID

Obama is going across the country in air force one on tax dollars. This is all about campaigning. Without his job bill to talk about, it only leaves his dismal record. Blame Bush is worn out. Now it is blame congress, (don't look at my record)

Jeff Landry of Louisiana, chose this moment to hold up a sign demanding Drilling = Jobs.
We were joking about doing something like this. However Landry actually did it! Oh things are bad for "The One". He is being openly laughed at and mocked. That means he no longer holds the ability to inspire fear of retaliation in his enemies. And that is the hallmark of a Chicago politician.
Niccolo Machiavelli, a man who would have felt very at home in Chicago Politics, could have told Obama that you can survive being hated, but not despised. Because when hated your enemies are afraid of you and will not act out of fear of retribution. When you are held in contempt there is no hesitancy to act on the part of your enemies.
From The Prince
A Prince is despised when he is seen to be fickle, frivolous, effeminate, pusillanimous, or irresolute...
Congratulations Obama you are 5 for 5. You are now openly and officially despised.

This speech was about as well thought out as Michelle Obama's college paper.
In fact, she probably wrote it!
It was the most juvenile, sophomoric collection of overused socialist platitudes, cliches and fantasies ever assembled in one speech.

I’ll have to say, I’m completely stunned by this article by Dana Milbank, normally pretty much a leftist Obama cheerleader. The article is remarkably well written and evidences a very sharp eye for the small details of reactions by individual Congresspersons and offers very insightful analysis of the implications of those reactions.
This article is absolutely damning in the picture it paints of the utter contempt that Congress has for this incompetent poseur of a President. I’m stunned to see someone like Milbank writing something like this and stunned to see a MSM outlet like the Washington Post publish something like this.

Very few things p!iss a narcissist off more than laughing at them when they’re raging and/or trying to assert their non-existent authority. As long as one’s certain that the narcissist won’t become increasingly violent, it can be quite fun. While laughing is my preference, yawning can also be amusing.
