Palin takes aim at GOP presidential candidates
The Hill ^ | September 12, 2011 | Josh Lederman

Palin even went as far as to lend her voice to the charge leveled by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) during the debate against Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R): That he allowed a law to go though requiring HPV vaccinations for adolescent girls because of a $5,000 campaign donation and his relationship with his former chief of staff, who went on to lobby for a pharmaceutical company.

"I knew there was something to it," Palin said of learning while she was Alaska's governor that her Texas counterpart had given the go-ahead to the vaccine. "Now we're finding that now, yea, something was up with that issue. It was an illustration or bit of evidence of some crony capitalism."

You keep saying I'm against Palin making money, which is not true at all.

I've explained it multiple times, yet you refuse to acknowledge that Palin is a paid member of the media, and it's her job to draw viewers to the network that employs her. As such, she is open for criticism, just as any other paid political analyst.

I was thinking maybe we could just all go for Romney. The RINOs love him, big money will be there for him, Wall Street, plenty of endorsements too, and he or Perry can beat Obama that’s for sure. If the mission is really to boot Obama then Romney will get the moderates, the Independents, RINOs, and certainly those of us conservatives who are still committed to this singular mission and only this mission. TO BOOT OBAMA.

And since there is a vocal cubicle of support in the conservative wing of Republicans who are the Palin-bots and Paul-bots, and have an entirely different mission, ie., To Boot All Our Other Contenders, then we may as well pile on the Romney wagon with the moderates and the disenchanted democrats and go with Romney, because their guy doesn’t have a prayer, and the Palin followers are still dropping like flies in winter while she is weighted down immovable and stratispheric negatives, so she doesn’t have a prayer either, and won’t come near a campaign announcement.

What da ya all think? We can admit that Perry has erred, is far from perfect, that his Texas jobs commitment was really only those four aces, he is an evil big government guy, he hates female adolescents and that his regrets are insincere hackery. Romney is smooth, competent, a great debater, has good hair and can get the same votes Perry can get. I was just thinking how brutal I am that I want to boot Obama at ALL costs and we can throw everybody over board, eat our own and drop the divisiveness and just finish off Perry and go with Romney. Cool?

” Real crony capitalism is occurring with Solyndra, ...”

Didnt Newt play it MUCH MUCH BETTER. They are trying to get digs against other Repubs and Newt pivots to the head of GE at Obama’s speech just days ago.

Green Jobs Crony Capitalism is the real issue, the hundreds of billions of ‘stimulus’ that is a bunch of political payoffs - hurt the productive and reward the ‘friends of Obama’.

standing to the outside taking potshots at the ANNOUNCED candidates???

#2 and #7 seem operative.

Off the top of my head, Palin makes the other candidates calculate the cost of firing back at her, since she is not a declared candidate. There’s no guarantee of return fire like there would be if she declared.

Smart.

Merck contributed around $5,000 to Perry, which works out to be 1/40th of 1% (or 1/4,000th) of Perry's campaign chest.

In other words, Merck contributed up to its legally allowed maximum under campaign finance regulations. That contribution bought them access to the target market for their vaccine. A mere $5,000 investment in a politician's future guaranteed them millions in revenue.

Sounds like cronyism to me.

“She quit”

PDS is an ugly thing.

It's “PDS” to point out that she quit her job? It's the primary reason she isn't going to run for President. Even if she becomes the nominee, which she won't, the Dems and media will label her as a quitter. She's unelectable, and she already has shown she'll quit when opponents come out with the longknives.

She's in a great spot right now. She's paid very well, she has her devote little group of devotees, and she doesn't have to do anything but get paid for speeches and take potshots at GOP candidates. Why would she want to give that up in order to not win the presidency?

Fox News pays Palin $1 million/year to draw ratings to their network. She sold herself out to FoxNews, that fact can’t be denied, but she seems to be doing her job well. She’s a paid member of the media, and people need to remember that her job is to say controversial things that draw viewers to the network.

Well to be fair she is not a journalist on Foxnews she is a paid contributor. A distinction with a difference, she is paid for her unvarnished opinions. Sarah Palin could be called many things but devious and dishonest are not her signature character traits. I have over the last few weeks had a chance to vette Rick Perry and he just is not up to snuff. The Al Gore thing, the vaccine thing, the illegal immigration issue, sorry but on the continuum he is more towards Gerald Ford than Ronald Reagan. Would I choose him over Obama, sure, but right now with SP ready to get in that is a false choice.

It’s not a problem to me. I’m only commenting that I view Palin’s comments through a media prism, as should others.

” I see a good night sleep didn’t help your delusions. “

What delusions? We have a mission or we don’t. We have different missions or we don’t. The snarling is really incidental to the mission. Or is it? Maybe that is your mission. I’m confused about yours, for instance.

“SHE DID NOT put in place any policy regarding Gardisil, the Federal Gov’t. did.”

I posted an Alaskan HHS notice, Palin’s administration. She allowed federal and state taxpayer money to be spent giving this HPV vaccine away. Yes, the Federal Govt (under Bush) was pushing this, but she didnt have to accept the money or the policy.

Also, Perry’s policy never made it ‘mandatory’ there was always an opt-out.

A few days back there were freepers pushing the meme that it wasn’t “FAIR” for Palin to do what she’s doing.

I hope they got their ‘Participant” trophy for the day ;)

Any person who bothers to read Sun Tzu sees exactly what she is doing and it really is that simple.

But other candidates would rather believe that politics is bean bag and we should abandon all principles to elect a winner. Someone like Palin fighting for what she believes in, to win, upsets their delicate sensibilities.
