After Turner Earthquake in Weiner District, Democrats’ Civil War Against Obama Begins
Big Government ^ | Sep 13th 2011 | Andrew Breitbart

Posted on 09/14/2011 7:17:23 PM PDT by neverdem

History will never be able to tell us who made the fatal error in New York’s 9th district – Barack Obama, or Anthony Weiner.

Just as Weiner kept on making critical errors every step of the way as his personal scandal unfolded earlier this year, President Obama has done everything in NY-09 to show that he is no friend of Israel and has no clue how to create jobs or learn from his many mistakes.

I predict a tectonic shift among American Jews and within the Democratic Party if Obama doesn’t quietly retire. All the spinning in the world can’t spin away the trend of Scott Brown, the Tea Party victory of November 2010, and now the Turner earthquake.

Many Democrats are awakening to the reality that their party has been hijacked by a radicalism completely unfamiliar to their parents’ and grandparents’ Democratic Party.

An internal, partisan civil war is now brewing in that party. What I think tonight is less important than what Joe Lieberman, Bill Clinton, Evan Bayh, and the rest of the former, and now defunct, reasonable wing of the Democratic Party is thinking tonight.

Right, and even if they did . . . they would still vote like commies, along with our RINOs.

All of the real democrats bolted years ago. What is left in the democratic party is socialists, communists, anarchists, abortionists, feminists, and opportunists.

Too bad we can’t enforce truth in advertising rules with the Democrats. It was taken over by the socialist and communist parties long ago.

Now, the RHINO arm of the Republican party.... that is an attempt at the more moderate lefties to take over the Republican party. I am sick of them.

I have to disagree with your assessment.

The radical leftists started taking over the Democrat party at a specific point in time. The radicals who demonstrated in Grant Park, at the 1968 Democrat convention, were in the hall the next time around. It was they who nominated McGovern in 1972.

By 1988, they had fully infiltrated the party and taken over its leadership.

The RINOs, on the other hand, are the rump of the Republican Party as it stood before the election of Ronald Reagan and the Gingrich Revolution of 1994. And it is conservatives who are now taking over from the RINOs, just as socialists took over the Democrat party in the seventies and eighties.

In some ways, the Socialists Workers party are even more honest than the Democrats . . .

They advertise exactly what they are, while the Democrats are wolves in sheeps clothing, pretending to be pro-American.

There are a lot of congenital Democrats who are more conservative than most Freepers, but they've never voted for a Republican in their lives.

They did this time.

if Obama doesn’t quietly retire.................................. I predicted that, I foresee an LBJ type decision. But at the same time, I see him going after the dumbed down yoot vote and keeping his black majority backers. Will his ego keep him in the running or will it finally dawn upon him that he is above his pay grade?

“IMHO, any moderate and conservatives left in that party, e.g. Jacksonian Democrats, are finally going to bolt in 2012.”

IMHO...This doesn’t thrill me. Conservative democrats make RINO republicans that bring us people like McCain and Bush. I’d be happier, much happier, if they’d remain democrats and vote for conservative tea party republicans as their dissent.

Let them become real conservatives before they try to join the Republican party. Or let them go Green.

Many Democrats are awakening to the reality that their party has been hijacked by a radicalism completely unfamiliar to their parents’ and grandparents’ Democratic Party.

My grandfather was big-time in local Democratic politics in CT. I recently spoke to my Uncle about the hijacking of the Democratic Party by the left.

He said that his father [my grandfather] had told him that the Democratic Party [nationally] had come perilously close to being hijacked by the Socialists and Communists in the late 1930's and 1940's.

However, they were ultimately rejected and pretty much purged from the Party from the 1950's onward ...

My Uncle says that [this time], they have managed to grab the brass ring [however briefly], but will ultimately be rejected again when Obama is defeated in 2012 and when control of the Senate will also turn over to the GOP.

Then, the blood-letting will begin. Revolt within the Democratic Party will knock Pelosi and Reid from power, along with their minions, and there will be fresh leadership at the helm.

However, the damage will have been done and it may be another 20 years before the Democratic Party becomes a contender again - as long as the GOP does NOT over reach and screw it up.

By that time, Breyer and Ginsburg will have retired [or died on the bench] and a GOP-controlled legislature [and POTUS] will have installed conservative replacements who will be on the bench until at least 2030 [or longer] ...

Do we have any sense of Blue dog Democrats possibly changing their party affiliation.

We would need four. I don't see that happening. Even if four seriously thought about, each would know that the pay back, from the other Democrats, would be a (expletive deleted). Even Jumpin' Jim Jeffords retired, after he handed the Democrats a majority, by switching parties, and Vermont lost some milk subsidies. Can you imagine the pay back the Democrats would extract? And if they ever got the majority back, any former Democrat, whose switch had cost them the Senate, would be a pariah, such as has not been seen since the Civil War.

No, any Senate Democrat, with a hope of a future career, won't switch, if it gives the Republicans control. And if they don't have hopes of a future career, why bother?

Webb, who was never able to give a succinct explanation of why he became a Democrat, may switch back. But he isn't running for re-election anyway.

Ben Nelson, who plays a moderate, when at home in Nebraska, might try to save himself, but I don't see him winning the Republican Primary. Mary Landrieu, who plays a moderate when at home in Louisiana, isn't up until 2014, but might switch early, especially given the weird "open" primary they have in Louisiana, but I don't see anyone else.

You could say that for the northeast and the west coast, but not for most of flyover country. look at a map, courtesy of jdege, of gun rights/privileges resoration.

The folks you describe are limited to big cities and college towns. The radical left craves gun control. All those states didn't restore gun rights and privileges with just GOP votes.

Boren is retiring. Also Jane Harman. Donnelly is running for Senate. The NC twins are being unfavorably redistricted as well as Altmire.

The ranks are definitely in the process of shrinking. Before 2010, there were about twice the number of Blue Dogs as I listed. They were decimated (har-har).
