God bless you Jim--and John. Been here since '98--after my dear hubbie found you during the Whitewater debacle. FReepers were so kind when he died suddenly of a heart attack in '02--his FReep name was 1John.

FreeRepublic has been my homepage since then--don't know what I would do without it! What a blesing to have such a great cyber family to be part of!

Free Republic is a refuge of sanity, intelligence and humor in some dark and disturbing times. Thanks to everyone who runs this place! God Bless FR!

It is my absolute conviction that IF we manage to save this great republic it will, in no small measure, be due to the existence of FreeRepublic.com and all the GREAT folks brought together by this great forum that YOU put in place Jim Robinson!

I found FR on C-SPAN showing the March for Justice! I lurked for about a year and finally got fed up enough to join after the Sore/Loserman crap. My first screen name was changed. I remember posting on the supreme court threads. There were so many threads that needed to be started.

Remember the days after a 100 or so posts, a new thread had to be started? Close your tags!

It dad to do with hovering your mouse cursor over something on your home page, but I don’t think that works now.

IIRC, mine is 1198. My join date is in Jan 1998. Nearly 14 years ago. WOW!

I know! I’ve shed tears over it a number of times! Some of those folks I only knew here on FR but Herb was a personal friend as well!

He used to say that he had never met a freeper he didn’t like and, come to think of it, neither have I!

Conservative Internet circles back then were small, but everyone linked to everyone else. I lurked on FR for about five years using it as a conservative news wire and didn't pay much attention to the comments, until one morning in 2001 when a Freeper posted an article I had written under a pen name. Within less than an hour Rush was reading my article on his show. That's when I realized Rush's staff was using FR as a news source too and from then on I became a regular Freeper.

Congratulations Jim!

Wow! I was just looking at his last post, Sorry Marine -- You're Too Old. IIRC, it was shortly before his horrific death. We were all SHOCKED by it.

I’ve been with you for 14 1/2 of those 15 years, Jim.

A heartfelt “thank you”. FR has kept me sane and grounded.

True dat. FR was tea party before there was a Tea Party.

Hey, I see Publius knows his/her Freeper number. How can I discover mine?
